The meditative 'collection' stance of Quigon....the brooding pace of Maul.... This fight has been definitive for so many different mediums to express the two sides. They're both effectively doing a DBZ 'power-up', but the directors were kind enough not to drag it on for 3 hours.

J'adore ce combat , un des meilleurs duel au sabre au laser de la saga. Dark maul est trop classe , la musique duel of the fates est top et c'est bien épique. I think I see some hate behind Obi Wan deafeating Darth-maul from a sure-death position. Darthmaul did not believe he could be beaten. Therefore, he did not see any way he could be beaten, and his guard was down. Obi-Wan knew he was dealing with the most powerful enemy there ever was and was ready for anything. You're welcome.

Many complained about the Prequels. They hurt Jedi master Lucus feelings so much he sold Lucusfilm to Disney. Yeah, he didn't realize that obi had momentarily gotten so mad about his master's death that he gave into the dark side briefly, and giving him just enough advantage to make some progress. Maul on the other hand got arrogant, and it cost him the fight. Obi learned that he shouldn't give into the darkness against a sith because he almost lost, and he learned that the low ground jump thing was only a one off lucky move, but he might want to prepare for an attack like it at a later time.

They should have kept Maul as the primary villain for the whole trilogy. The first trilogy became an unstoppable pop-culture force because it had a highly memorable villain to provide continuity and anchor the series dramatically. Maul, the soft-spoken devil incarnate, who is one of the most memorable film villains ever, could have been that for the second trilogy. They should have had Maul and Anakin face off. This would test Anakin emotionally considering Maul was hired to assassinate Padme. There is no comparison between Maul and Dooku. In a series of “special” characters, there’s nothing memorable about Dooku. He’s an old white guy with a single-bladed lightsaber. He has no edge, no psychologically compelling backstory. Anakin’s killing Dooku in RotS is one of the most disappointing anti-climaxes ever. Dooku is what we call a “filler” villain, a cardboard cut-out. He exists because Lucas needed a lightsaber-wielding villain for Anakin to kill to become worthy of being the great Sith Lord Vader. But why not just use Maul? Have one of the most memorable film villains ever kill another as a kind of twisted right of passage.

@@naikyo7493 la forme ataru est certes fatiguante mais c'est pas "purement" offensive comme tu dis c'est juste que c'est une forme qui s'appuie sur les prouesses physique et les utilisateurs doivent se servir de la force pour augmenter leur capacité physique, chose grâce à laquelle Yoda fait beaucoup d'acrobatie quand il se bat. Car Luke Skywalker est un utilisateur de cette forme et au début du combat dans le retour du Jedi contre Vador il est dans la défense car il ne veut pas se battre avec son père.

Anyone notice the look on Natalie Portmans face when they shot this scene as the doors opened? Her look was genuine because she was unaware of Ray Park's presence ( Darth Maul) behind those doors. This was planned by the director to help bring out the look of both being startled and surprised!!

I believe the main reason why people back then hated the prequel trilogy(clunky dialogue aside), was probably because it just felt a little too modern. The prequel trilogy didn't have that look and feel like the 70'/80's picture quality esthetic to them like the original trilogy did! And many people were probably hoping the picture quality would translate to the prequels if it explores Anakin's backstory that led to him turning to the darkside of the force.
