restoring damaged, destroyed phones and giving new life. Its happiness. Today when new phones cost thousands of dollars, repairing has to be encouraged, atleast for minor issues, rather than buying completely a new phone. Here in India, the major issue with repairing is lack of genuine parts, and information about generic parts used.
@TheTimeFarm2 жыл бұрын
I wish he would say what the total price was and how long it took. You can't really tell if something was worth it if you don't know what the price was. These videos drive me freakin nutz. The iPhone is built very well. Modular parts, and pull strip adhesive on batteries, etc. If it wasn't for their software lockouts, and a handful of poor adhesive choices, they would be the undeniable best. In truth some of his repairs the cost of the repairs easily exceeds the value /resell value for the products. His videos are more about the fact that we shouldn’t be a throw away culture with the huge amount of ewaste out there. But here’s what this same exact repair is costing me Damaged iphone 11 64gb free from my nephew New screen with casket and little parts installed was $42 usd Recycled used oem housing with everything pre installed $87 usd New battery $25 usd Total in parts: $154 Currently resell value: $325-$360 USD avg Possible profit: $171-$206 Note: in damaged condition these sell for $100-$150 though so if I’d not gotten it for free profit is only $71-$106 high side to $21-$56 low side. Once you factor in the multiple hours this can take, it’s why shops often say not worth repair which is what apple wants so you buy new ones Now the housing he bought I see generally sell for $40-$50 usd though. I opted for a recycled oem housing that all I have to do is transfer the logic board straight across to because I’m not at his level to feel safe moving every little piece over without errors though so I paid for a fully assembled one to make things way easier! I did also invest in a $140 parts programmer to remove all the error messages but that’s not a must do step to still have a good working device
