Mythic Dwellers Yea when I install the character overhaul and when I start the game up some characters have "Install blockhead" even though I have it along with the OBSE. I use the NMM

This is a common problem and not everyone can seem to fix it, if we can't fix it you can try *OCO version 1* , it's still much better than the vanilla faces. Is your *Oblivion* up-to-date? Including the *community patch* ? www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/5296 Have you got the *.dlls* in the right place? Should be *Data>OBSE>Plugins* . Have you got *OBSE* installed? Or perhaps i should ask if it is working? You can install and use *OBSE Tester* to see if *OBSE* is running. www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/33574 To make sure *blockhead* is working you can start a *new game* and try moving the *camera* around with *W A S D* keys during the character creation screen. If it's *not* moving you have installed it in the wrong place, and just make sure it's under the *plugins folder* inside the *obse* folder you need the *blockhead.dll* file there. /Data/OBSE/Plugins 90% of the time the problems revolving around *blockhead* are _installation_ errors. Keep me updated and i'll continue to do everything i can to help!

I'm trying to install the overhaul one myself. I use OBMM... when a mod is omod ready OBMM will tell me it has omod info.... when I go to install the overhaul there is no window like that... and the description has no name, no version, no author. I looked through the mod and there is no file for omod information. Thanks for the video. Yeah, Vortex has a NMM import setting, and functions relatively the same. However Vortex is still in alpha and NMM is still recommended as the primary mod installer by Nexus until Vortex is out of Alpha.

I would highly recommend Wrye Bash AND Oblivion Mod Manager if you seriously want to mod Oblivion correctly. I'v found that with other mod managers they they tend to break quite easily and mess up your game.

Alright so this may be a dumb question but I don't know much about modding. So I just went through your first tutorial/showcase on Qarl TP & DarNified UI on the Oblivion MM, and now in this tutorial we're supposed to use Nexux MM. Do these to mod managers collaborate with each other, meaning that if I installed Qarl & DarNified on Oblivion MM, and Character Overhaul & Flora 2 on Nexus MM, will I still get all 4 mods when playing Oblivion? Also in a different note, is anything different with these mod managers or any of these installations when I'm playing Oblivion through Steam? +JakeBubblegum These are all good questions. We use Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) in the first video because that's the most reliable installation method for those mods. Meaning you'll be less likely to get errors or less likely for the mod to fail to load. We use Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) in the second video for the same reason ,but the mod authors also strongly recommend that you use NMM to install these mods, to prevent installation problems. Using OBMM with Character Overhaul has a 50% chance to work since its NMM update. So to prevent mass problems we use that to install the character overhaul v2. And to keep things simple and streamlined we install Improved Trees & Flora using NMM also. You could install both through NMM but it's less likely to work as QTP and DN-UI is designed for OBMM. They both work in fine together, just note that having archive invalidation enabled in NMM will prevent it from working on OBMM so I'd recommend leaving it off on NMM and using the one in OBMM. OBMM was designed spesificly for oblivion, thats why you see more in-depth options for Oblivion when using it, plus alot of the older mods are designed around OBMM not NMM, in newer games like Skyrim almost all mods are fully compatible with the NMM. The difference between steam and retail is minimal. As long as when you install the Oblivion script extender you boot from steam, not from the OBSE shortcut like you do with the retail copy.

I have a Ryzen 5 1600. With a Gtx 1070ti. 16gb 3000 DDR4 Ram. But you don't need that to run oblivion with these mods. I'd recommend a Gtx 1060 with a mid teir Ryzen 5 or Intel i5. But I'm sure you could got lower in specs if you really wanted to and still have this work.

Hey, on my game the faces are changed and great, but the eyes are black. At least on humans, beast races and most elves have correct eyes. You can disable Archive invalidation on NMM and if you have OBMM installed use its AI feature. Archive invalidation is just a way for _Replacers_ to load correctly. Oblivion will load any meshes from your data folder, however sometimes oblivion fails to load or partially loads textures and meshes, which is caused by a bug in oblivion Archive Invalidation system. Using NMM or OBMM is just a work around to help reduce bugs from the mod. Thats a pretty basic and quick explanation of why you want to, but dont need to use Archive Invalidation. So dont sweat if you cant get it to work.

Installing OBSE is a simple task, Just go to obse.silverlock.org/ and download the newest version. Then Copy the files into your Main Oblivion directory, NOT DATA FOLDER, and boot the game from the OBSE File from now on, not the launcher.

could someone help me, i've been trying to get the character overhaul to work but it doesn't seem to want to work, i've followed all the instructions to the letter and i couldn't get it to work, simply said, i load up a new save to create a character and all the different races have something wrong with them and all are still using the vanilla textures and meshes (the once that do use textures that is), for instance the imperial is bald, the khajiit is black (this isnt me being racist i mean he is literally pitch black), the argonian has no eyes and is pitch black like the khajiit and a few even put my camera in a different position somewhere in another cell inside the wall, i've tried everything ,ive reinstalled the game, ive reinstalled the modds , ive checked to see if the blockhead mod was on read only, i checked if obse was installed correctly, ive no clue what i could do ,ive even installed a mod which said it patches the oco but that just crashed my game at launch, so if anyone has had this problem before please share with me a solution. i thank you for taking the time to read this, and would love to hear a solution if you have one. kind regards chris.

The black faces usually mean *missing textures,* if you don't have *Archive invalidation* checked it could cause this problem. If you do have it checked in the *Nexus Mod Manager* and it sill doesn't fix it, you can *Disable Archive invalidation* on the *NMM* and install: Archive Invalidation Invalidated www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/10724 Hopefuly this fixes the problem!

Update, I solved the problem by using obmm instead of nmm ,the instructions on how to do this are in the zip file with the mod itself , however this does mean a forced manual download.

Mythic Dwellers To me the translations are just perfect, quick, simple, minimalist, and in overall are colours that relate to the channel. About the bass, just raise a little to make it look like it has not foundations, and because this is a sort of war game it contrast really well the calm and simpleness of the intro.

Make Sure you have the newest version of OBSE installed, and you have read only disabled. Then Uninstall both Character V2 and block head through NMM, right click and permanently remove. Disable Archive invalidation, Then Try manually installing Blockhead by placing it into the plugins folder for OBSE : X:\XXXXXX\XXXXXXX\Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins Then add COV2 back to NMM and install it again. Enable Archive Invalidation, Then Boot from OBSE and hopefully it should work.

alright, just followed those instructions, however, whenever I disable "read only" for either OBSE or Blockhead and hit apply, then check the properties again, it says "Read only" is still enabled as if it wasn't changed. Also, I can't boot from OBSE bc it gives an error message saying i should run it through steam instead. Same resulting issues as before.

I honestly don't remember :/ what i do remember is it wasn't a "read only" issue, i mis-diagnosed the problem. I can't remember exactly, but i just sorta fiddled with it and restarted a couple times, also i think i had to switch over to Nexus Mod Manager instead of the TES manager i was using? I know its not very helpful tbh, but hopefully it inspires a fix lol. Or message the OP directly, they seem to know their stuff

I have the GOG version of Oblivion. I had installed the character overhaul v2 mod. I ran the game from the obse_loader.exe file and all was dandy. Then I stopped playing for a while and recently, when I tried to run the game again (using the obse file) the game would not start. It showed up in task manager but there was nothing else. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Never mind, I just solved it! It was the damn antivirus. It was detecting obse_loader as a menace, and stopping its execution. After I closed the Oblivion task from the task manager, I noticed obse_loader dissappeared from the folder. So I reinstelled the mod, and all OBSE related files to my Oblivion folder. Then I declared the folder to be an exception for the antivirus so it would stop deleting my loader and I could play again.

I'm glad you fixed it!! Also just so you know in the future, when you uninstall the game it just removes the files from the directory, and your save games are in _My Documents_ so they should remain untouched!

THe character overhaul V2 has been the biggest PITA to install...I finally got it working but for some reason it just doesn't want to get rid of that "install blockhead" crap on the faces of the majority of the characters...once the argonian and khajiit worked, but none of the others did, then they all worked except for the orc race...I spent too much time reinstalling it...and believe me I was following the instructions every single time. I don't know why it finally worked but I'm not touching it ever again lol. BTW, love the halo and age of empires background music.

@@Kylotheson Its been a while since I did this but I remember oblivion needs to run the regular .exe file even with obse, my game won't run when I use the obse.exe file...I tried deleting the obse.exe from my oblivion folder (just put it on the desktop or somewhere else if you don't want to completely remove it.) But leave everything else that is required for obse to work. When I removed that file, all my npc faces would load correctly. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you, only takes a second to see if it'll work.

On nexus mod manager, select the mod, right click, then uninstall. On the mods page, not the esp page.

Hey man, I got the mods into nexus mod manager and tried to launch the game. the problem is, that when I start it the "Bethesda-Studios" being displayed, stops when not even being halfway through and the game closes itself. PS: when I saw that you used nexus mod manager I already knew that something would go wrong because nexus never works with oblivion in my case

I hate the Overhaul Orcs. Is there another mod that doesn't make them look goblin-y; vanilla Orcs look very Warhammer Original and I preferred them.

I'm about to lose mu fucking mind. I've tried using Blockhead and OCO2 in that order on Nexus Mod manager, but every time I do so, I get a notification in the same saying that Blockhead is not installed properly. So whenever I reinstalled those mods, the game crashes on start up. This has been going on for over two years now. HELP!!
