The reason the "remaster" collection has such a large file size is because they threw every single texture into an upscaler and did nothing to optimize it. They left a texture file that was just the color white at the upscaled resolution.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, BF1 has better graphics, but is slower paced, BF2 downgraded graphics maybe for more users to be able to play, and it has much better mods overall. I like both games.
