Personally reminds me of Achievement Unlocked, which had a similar vibe, except every last achievment was a microtransaction. They went a step further in that you even had to buy better/more advanced graphics and the title screen

I really liked it at release. My favorite part of Fallout 4 was wandering around shooting mutant animals and picking up junk, so from my POV 76 was just the good parts of 4 without NPCs trying to convince me to participate in their quest lines. I haven't played since they updated it; the pitch of "we have NPCs now!" seemed like the opposite of what I wanted from the game.
