Excited for part 2 I have a mass air 97 460 so the low profile kit isn't an option but really curious to see the wideband results. I have the banks full exhaust and that seemed to wake it up a bit but still haven't done the adjustable FPR

Take thermostat off engine so transmission runs cold and if your state doesn't care about smog check take catalytic converter off for more power and a 14 mile per gallon instead of 12

Seems like a lot of work, and probably money, to just add hot air induction. What you would gain in air increase is going to be canceled out by hotter air intake temps. This is going to be even more true in the hotter summer months. You don't have the venturi cooling effect like there is on a carbed engine. So any IAT cooling has to be done strictly by the fuel spraying from the injectors. And by removing the upper intake you are losing runner length and volume. So it's probably losing some torque too. I think if someone did want to run this kind of set up. It could probably use at least a 3" spacer between the lower intake and the TB adapter plate. That would increase the plenum volume and runner length. Basically like adding a tall carb spacer on a carbed engine. And it how much larger are the actual butterflies on this throttle body? To really take advantage of this kind of set up you would need a air box around the air filter that is fed by some pipes or hoses going to the grille or front bumper area. Or a carb hat and remote filter. But doing this kind of defeats the purpose of going to this kind of set up. To me it would have been easier just to add an aftermarket larger throttle body to the stock upper intake and just build a custom cold air intake set up to work with the new throttle body. You would have probably seen a bigger improvement with a pair of headers and freer flowing exhaust. But you'd run into the same issues with the tune.

Inside those cobra tubes are giant air restrictors, the stock intake the engine is breathing through a surface area of roughly 1 US dime.

@@Nick-ue7iw Changing the stock throttle body & rubber intake hoses is a whole lot simpler then this conversion. And would give a bigger improvement. The only thing I see you gain by this conversion is looks. It's sure not going to improve the performance.

It is a dodge 5.2 throttle body (unfortunately they do not mention this). I was disappointed after installing this kit on my 97 f350 460. Good looks and fitment but otherwise no bueno.

You are never supposed to unplug or plug the spout while the engine is running because it can screw up the ecu. That truck needs copper plugs, lower thermostat and the timing bumped to at least 12.

That throttle body is dog shit. Had it on my truck for a while. All it does is suck hot air. The openings in it are actually smaller than stock as well...just dei cool wrap the intake tubes to keep the air cool and you'll be golden.

@@cprgarage3206 nice man. I have one set to about 50 psi vaccum detached and it does great. One thing about these trucks that I learned is they dont like to go open loop. If you get a tweecer you can adjust these settings and then you can get a proper 13:1 AFR when your foot goes to the floor. Mine was never going into open loop till I changed it

Not a car part it probably came from home depot. It's just a flexy natural gas hose

Change out your fuel pressure regulator.. that's the major weak point to the 460. There finiky and don't always pull 40psi

Not sure why this is better exactly. Hard to tell from the video if the dodge throttle body is bigger than the Ford. Definitely loosing some plenum volume and gaining hotter intake air temps
