This video was originally set to use Streamlabs OBS. The same theories will work regardless of what streaming software you are using.

I have that problem of lag and my live cuts all the time. I've been using OBS for my facebook live for more than 2 years and it just start now to lag and cut. I only have the problems I use OBS on WIFI. If I go direct via facebook I don't have that problem. Why it does that with OBS. Thanks a lot

So my download speed is 461.3 and my upload is 23.4. I set the OBS Bitrate to 4000 but I’m still Lagging on Facebook. I can’t find the perfect number

Sometimes Facebook is just potato. Did you try the different latency settings on the Facebook Live dashboard?

add a delay

[I'm plugged in via ethernet cable, and my OBS latency's still up in the 70's. Yet my download's at 565.47 Mbs and upload's at 2.86Mbs Ookla Speedtest.]

Are you leved up yet?
@dantepelino80413 жыл бұрын
@@LiveStreamingTech not yet. but i can set common fps values to 60fps in obs settings, and the graph stream metrics says it is 60fps

@@dantepelino8041 They are most likely capping you on their (Facebook's) end till you hit that level up.

Thanks for the video sir. Just wanted to confirm, does fb live really have a 10-15 second delay from obs and the live broadcast?
@LiveStreamingTech3 жыл бұрын
It will vary and there are many things that can increase or decrease this delay/lag.

Im running a facebook live stream, 3 cameras thru livepro switcher, then to obs for chroma keying, then using obs virtual camera as a webcam form my facebook stream, out of a mac mini gen 8 3 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5, upload ethernet is 14mbps.. I test it for a few seconds all goes well and smooth, but when i go live the video freezes, the audio continues.. what do you think went wrong?' help pls you're the man!

Did you check the resources that you are using during the test stream? Are you encoding with the CPU or GPU? Good idea with the switcher because this will cut down on the resources used. What is your upload speed set at in OBS? Try running a test stream without the switcher just with one of the main cameras. Keep testing and only change one thing at a time. I need a bit more info but 9 times out of 10 you can narrow down the issue by doing multiple test streams and change one thing at a time. I would first eliminate the switch and just roll with one camera what ever would pull the most resources and see if the problem still happens.
