Obscene Amount of Money is NOT ENOUGH to Reunite Queensryche with Geoff Tate!

Here are my thoughts about Geoff Tate's recent revelation that the original members have been offered a crazy amount of money to reunite for one final tour together.

Queensryche was among my top 5 favorite bands for decades. . .when DeGarmo left . . .it hurt. When Geoff left, it was over. . .

Geoff Tate has released five solo albums, with three of them released since 2012. He's also been featured on and toured for two Avantasia albums and has already recorded his parts for the upcoming Avantasia album. I'm sure he'll tour for that as well. He's released two Sweet Oblivion albums which are projects for Frontiers Records which pair him with musicians. Both are excellent. He's beginning work on a third Sweet Oblivion album as well. Tate is doing just fine without Queensryche.

Oh I loved queensryche Dave one of my favorite bands Geoff Tate was a awesome singer what a great voice such a great rock band indeed I would be cool to see the band come together again and reunite with Geoff Tate sucks that they don't like each other anymore hate to hear that loved this band be cool for them to come together 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I wasn't sure what to think about Queensryche without Geoff, but when I saw them with Todd opening up for Scorpions, they won me over.

I was just watching "Operation Live Crime" the other day. Great video Dave. I would have loved to have seen the OG band, especially the Mindcrime tour! Wow. That would have been great. It never ceases to surprise me how much you and I have in common. God Bless my friend! Queensryche died when Tate and DeGarmo left. Not an opinion, it's a fact. The current Queensryche tribute band, (because that's all it is).... is just God awful. And is just as bad as the current KISS tribute band.

We are all entitled to our opinions Marix Stone. I totally get where you are coming from. Still, I'm glad that some version of Queensryche (and KISS, for that matter) are around to perform for those who want to see them live.

Todd is spotty. Some night he can sing and others he screams. Tate is more consistent and knows his vocal limits. Seen him Jan 21st and sounded pretty good compared to what he has in the psst.

I haven't seen them live enough times to pass judgment...but the one time that I saw Todd with Queensryche, the dude was money.

For a while, GT was god. Best voice in the world in his prime. With all due respect to Dickinson, Dio, Halford and all the other usual suspects, Geoff was the best. In contrast to many, however, he is no longer the singer that he was. Still a unique voice and no disrespect to him, but if we are being honest, Todd LaTorre sings the old Queensrÿche songs better than Geoff these days. Being even more brutally honest, neither QR in the current lineup nor GT are very relevant as far as their new albums are concerned. When I go to a concert, I want to hear those first four or five albums. A reunion with GT and even Chris Degarmo still wouldn't sound like the QR of old. It simply is a non starter.

Never going to happen. I love queensryche, and you love queensryche, but they have been irrelevant for 30 years. No one is offering “obscene” money for an act, that even if they got Degarmo back (which is NEVER going to happen) would have trouble filling theaters. Just let it be……..

@@acemechanical275 I don't know about 30 years, I saw them in '07 for Mindcrime 1&2 tour and it was sold out.
