Thanks Trev so glad you remained positive throughout the experience, they seem to be every where these days, a reflection on the pressures on people..with some people no matter what you do they are never happy..I'm so glad the Keeper could see the other side of the story and helped you..your still smiling good on you and the stress they have brought onto themselves...might l add they have forked out good $$$$ for that stress ...will they learn probably not...thanks again mate for an enjoyable bit of your world regards Doc from Down Under

Thanks, Doc. I will not allow them to wind me up. I do think the best way to deal with anyone being irrational is to agree with them and keep calm. The exact thing they do not expect so they have no answer for it. I did get an apology from one of the boats a little while after at a water point.

There is always that one person who will strive to moan and pass on their negativity onto others.... a great vlog!!!! Lots going on and great to see your journey throughout on this canal. Xxx

Really lovely video . I like the information you gave and the lovely images of where the land had slid into the other river , also the shrubs on passing the marina were so beautiful. All of the scenery you showed was amazing . Thank you .

I am glad you liked it. A very pleasant canal to travel, the only downside there is not a grocery shop to been seen after leaving Middlewich.

Your nasturtium are lovely ! Talking about trees? I swear I've seen a Larch along the canals...I forget where? Do you know the tree? A deciduous type of fir? I was surprised to spot it..one of my favorite trees.. You have safe cruising...thank you for the vlog..😊
@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat3 жыл бұрын
I think there is a type of cypress tree that is deciduous. A memory from my school days, so that could be wrong.

Water off a ducks back to me. I was not going to let it spoil my day. I actually got an apology from one of the boats about an hour later, when I stopped behind them to fill up with water.

I have been watching lots of boaters blogs lately. I have a boat in Belgium which I am selling and was considering buying a narrow boat in the UK. I am surprised at the number of altercations tKing place. Not sure I want that stress.
@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat3 жыл бұрын
It was never like this until recently. I could be wrong, but I think it is down to 2 things. There have been a lot of people taking their holidays on the canal, as they cannot get to their beaches wherever. These probably do not really want to be on a boat. The other is people got locked down and were not able to get to their boat for months, that are not liveaboards and have come back stressed out and have been taking it out on everything and anything. I am hoping if we get back to some sort of normality this will go away.

In Chicago we have road rage. . . apparently you have been dealing with “canal rage” LOL.
@TrevsTravelsByNarrowboat3 жыл бұрын
There is road rage here also lol. Every time I have driven to Chicago the traffic was going to slow for road rage, I found that more on the I55 getting there. BTW I lived near Joliet for 15 years.

Another goodie Trevor. You always get someone who likes to pretend they are someone..even on a canal it seems.One day, they will abuse the wrong person. I agree re the buildings & wondering who lived in them & what lives they led. Haven't found anything about the naming of the Wadle & whether it used to be the whole stretch but will keep an eye out. Do you use the nasturtiums in your salads etc? Thanks again.

I certainly did not let it spoil my day. Yes, I eat every thing I grow, or if I do not eat it, it is used in cooking.

Nice one again thanks Trev. As to the tossers at the lock; sounds like a 'smile and wave' moment to me. You'll wake up happy in the morning and they'll still be tossers spending their angry little day looking for someone else to fall out with. That is probably their lot in life; a leopard don't change it's spots in my long (sadly very long) experience. Keep smiling Trev and looking forward to the next episode.

It was not going to spoil my day. The funny thing was I met one of the boats later that day when filling up with water, and they were as nice as pie.
