I remember when I went round a friends house and saw him play this and yeah the start is bad and it doesn't have a great co-op but I still think the game was rather good, it wasn't amazing but some areas had a pretty good atmosphere and some of the monster designs were pretty good.

Going back through and rewatching all the shitstorms in anticipation for the latest storm of shit and hey, I still appreciate this game for it’s atmosphere. For everything it gets wrong, it still gets a good chunk of things right. And the gameplay itself is still quite pretty considering the time it was released, it reminds me of Silent Hill 3 in some sections.

It's a pretty good game, pretty much a dream come true for any RE fan who ever wanted a proper original RE experience in local co-op mode. It's kinda what RE0 should've been gameplay wise, two players controlling both characters and simply sharing the same camera. Shame the sequel for Obscure was worse in every way possible. All of the character can also die in the game, even an ending where you all are dead exist during the final boss fight and there's a couple of moments in the game if you don't do some proper things like applying a broken off hand break for an elevator before using it in a major scene can lead to a character or two dying randomly after the crash.

Anyone who said this game sucks probably only plays Call of Duty and considers themselves a gamer, there are PLENTY of horrible gams out there and this is not one of them. It was never mean't to be a triple A title, it was a budget title made by a budget studio, they tried something different with making a survival horror game with fixed camera angles + even local multiplayer. At the time the rage was RE4 and over the shoulder views, so going back to fixed cameras was taking a risk, that worked out. ObsCure happens to be one of my favorite survival horror games, and i'll admit it's VERY flawed but it's not horrible or 'trash' as people claim, the ones talking shit have never actually played the game for themselves. Get a friend to play it with and you'll have a blast. (Assuming you have friends) It's a quick game that can be finished in a few hours but it's a fun title to play.
