For Future students, Dr. Marshall and I went over the Last example and determined that the third pole placement for the observer still needs to cancel the zero in the numerator, so instead of -100 the pole will be located at -4. If no zero were present, the pole would be a 10x multiple of the third pole in the original system, which is 5x the real part of the dominant poles (in the example, that would be 5x1 and then 10x5 for and observer pole at -50)
