Right, I just wouldn’t buy that fridge. I think Dave is saying that, in a hypothetical moment where you just want to get into your damn fridge, and it says “sorry you look stressed, no food access” or whatever, a lock on the fridge isn’t going to keep him or anyone else out, therefor making it a poor idea to manufacture. My reaction whatever type I am is like what if this tech became the norm? God forbid my '03 needs replacing. If all new cars have this tech and then I'm not allowed to drive home cause I look too tired, you're controlling me but now I also gotta deal with the chaos of my possessions not working like I expect them to. Now I gotta pay all this money to get an Uber home, but what if I'm hours away or in the middle of nowhere? These new cars already have like lane drift monitoring and this AI driving stuff and without it I've never gotten into an accident as fatigued, distracted, or medicated as I've been anyway, so let me just get the hell home please.

I look tired all the time, so that car would never let me drive anyway, and I'd have to either constantly dig up ancient cars without this tech and pay nicely to keep them alive and driving, or yeah, illegally hack it. But again, I'm not an Observer so I don"t freak out about it because I believe there will be alternatives and workarounds and that probably your car will just insist to be on autopilot all the way. Although, since I'm a decider, humanity will alway surprise me with the stupidest execution of this idea.

@@BlueHazyDreams But let's be honest, even if you're a good, responsible driver who doesn't need it, there's nothing wrong if no one can cross lanes without signalling or drive too close to the car in front, or ignore a red light. I don't mind if they make seatbelts not mandatory, it's each person's choice if to protect themselves, but stuff that endanger others? If the autopilot is actually good, I also don't mind it takes over for tired/ intoxicated or just bad drivers, but I'd program the AI on recognizing and preventing driving patterns instead of the driver's face.
