My favorite animal on this planet is the gorilla, they're such gentle caring creatures, they look intimidating but gorillas will try to avoid violence at all cost and will fight only if it has absolutely no other choice. When I worked as a bush pilot in Uganda I had a pleasure of a wild baby gorilla which approached me and started climbing on my back, at that moment I thought I was dead because the mother went to the silverback to show him what I was doing but incredibly the silverback walked up to me and took the baby and gave it to the mother with zero aggression towards me and since then I fell in love with these beautiful apes. They're truly amazing but you have to see them live in their natural habitat to really appreciate these creatures, TV just doesn't do it justice compared to seeing them live.

after their babies start to reach the age when they no longer require their mother's milk, koalas will feed them a certain type of dung. This dung introduces a bacteria into their digestive system that aids in the breaking down of Eucaplyptus, a rather toxic plants to all but Koalas. They're so itty bitty and sweet as hell.. next then are Gorillas. They are so huge and powerful. Such a beautiful animal and so amazing to watch them in their habitat. Paula Johnson I don't think they attack often. Gorillas are extraordinarily peaceful for wild animals because they are intelligent, emotional, and social creatures and unless provoked, they have no reason to attack other animals unless they are a legitimate threat because they aren't after meat. I'm sure humans have been attacked, but likely because they were not mindful enough. There is more footage of humans directly interacting peacefully with wild gorillas than humans being attacked by them, which I haven't actually ever seen. I've seen them put on displays of their dominance just to let humans know they are not to be trifled with, but these actions are not with the intention of attacking unless that human isn't approaching mindfully and cautiously.

I would actually like to offer myself as a gorilla protector if someones willing to provide the right equipment and a reasonable contract I will go out to these countries and protect wildlife from poachers on a shoot on site basis.

That's very short sighted. It's way better to make good money and give that money to people who are actually experienced in those matters. You would need years of training. This shit isn't as simple as getting a gun and camping in the forest for a bit. Try to find out what local organizations are actually working on protecting great Apes and try to support them with what you have. Stop romanticising these issues for your own virtue signaling. You are helping nobody by getting killed on your first day in the forest.

One of the men that murdered Rafiki received 11 years in prison, much shorter than the life sentence they expected him to be sentenced to. I understand they also have apprehended the other men involved. My hope is they continue to hold these people responsible. RIP Rafiki

This appears to be a different Rafiki (there were 3 gorillas given that name). The first Rafiki lived on Bisoke in the 60's, the second on Mikeno in the 90's, and the third in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda. This would appear to be the second Rafiki. The Ugandan population is currently separated from other mountain gorillas.

They are absolutely facsinating creatures and I can’t help myself from seeing ourselves in them They are so intelligent , they are filled with love for each other and I feel communicate so beautifully
