You have to buy a shim kit and shim both cams to the right (towards the riser) maybe to 0.020" a little bit goes a long way and unfortunately it's a bit of trial and error. Set your rest to center shot and then shoot a bare shaft arrow from 20 yards at a target setup at shoulder height. Make small adjustments with your shims till you get the bare shaft arrow entering the target perfectly straight and level. Lastly shoot your bare shaft arrow with your fletched arrows making very small adjustment to your rest to get them to group. As much as I love my Obsession bows I always have to shim them to get them to shoot perfectly. The good news is that once you have shimmed them you will never have to shim again. If you would like a good resource to learn about tuning bows Archery Talk is a good place to learn and ask questions.

Your right on the line for spine. I would go with a 300 spine for sure. You really can never be too stiff with a modern compound bow. Ive owned 7 obsessions and have had to shim all of them.. Every new FX series I’ve tuned this year has also had to be shimmed except for 2. When you shim the cams the tear will get better, but you’ll most likely need to go to a 300. Also, paper tune at 5 yards with a bareshaft, and do a walk back tune out to 30 yards and you’ll be grouping broadheads with fieldpoints no problem after that! Any questions just ask!

Shooting through paper with fletching isn’t going to truly show what the arrow is doing because the fletchings are doing what they are suppose to do which is correct arrow flight. You’ll want to set centershot, and align the powerstroke of the cams by shimming. Don’t move the rest more than 1/16” you want your rest at centershot. Once you get a bullethole with bareshafts you’ll do a walk back tune out to 20-30 yards. After that is complete you’ll be shooting lasers!

Is it the same with my setup. 29" and 60 pounds max ? I have plenty of Easton Flatline 340 arrows for the bow and have not shot the bow yet. I will be doing that during upcoming weekend.

How do you sight the black gold single pin? Is it by FPS?

Me and my buddy both had the same problem with our new fx7’s. I tried building the heaviest Victory VAP arrow for this bow @ 70lb draw weight & 28.5 draw length and went with the 300 spine and had a horrible 3” tear to the right. Did everything you did with the rest and same exact results. Just replaced the 300 spine for some 350’s and I’m hoping this fixed the problem or I’m gonna have to send it off to to shimmed.

Let me know how it turns out

Did it fix the problem ? I am waiting for my 60 pounder with same draw lenght and i will be using Easton Flatline 340 arrows of 390 grains.

ALWAYS paper tune from between 5 and 10 yards. Ever heard of archers paradox? Give the arrow time to straighten itself out

The only arrow I could get rid of the issue you are having with my obsession knightmare from 2014 was a maxima red 350. I shot vaps , black eagle carnivores , pile drivers, axis and they all indicated underspine issues on the correct spine arrow for my setup . Had a guy refer me to the maximas as they only offer 2 spine options . And the issue stopped immediately

Spine could definitely play a factor. As well as point weight/foc. My 300 spines tune out much better than my 340s at 67 lb draw on a 28.5 in arrow. If you are still getting a tear with stiffer shafts, you probably need to take it to someone that can shim it or +\- twists from you cable bus to tune it up.
