Helle Dr .Sannil Rege ,and what is the difference between OCD and Thought loop ?
@PsychiatrySimplified Жыл бұрын
Obsessions are intrusive ego dystonic ( often described as senseless thoughts ) associated with compulsions to reverse the anxiety. Thought loop is more akin to ruminations - which are who syntonic - difficult to control and not always possible to reduce anxiety. But individuals may use words differently so it’s important to clarify the nature

Excellent presentation. Have you considered Adding EMDR to your recommendation? Those of us who practice EMDR regularly feel that BLS is the best way to activate the brain's limbic system. I found while taking a training "Did I Lock the Door?: Treating OCD with EMDR Therapy, Exposure, and Response Prevention and Ego State Therapy" by , Sandra Paulsen, Phd. I have found the best results with BLS/EMDR come with handheld pulsators.

Thank you for your feedback. That is really interesting. It hasn't been mentioned in the guidelines or in central stream literature for OCD. Is it applicable for all cases of OCD or trauma-related? Thank you for sharing.

I have OCD (Pure O) and it can be quite debilitating. I also have ASD (Asperger's) and I think this contributes greatly towards it. I took Paxil for the longest time and it was extremely effective. It unfortunately stopped working three years ago and ended up trying Prozac and Lexapro. I personally don't find either are as effective as Paxil was but recently started seeing a new Psychiatist and he recommended Lexapro and NAC to try and help with OCD. Great videos! I have taken an interest in learning about medications and really like your presentation style.

Thank you for sharing and also for the feedback. We have videos by Prof Berk on NAC and OCD. Higher doses help via glutamate, and it can be effective.

Also, ASD has the E-I imbalance theory, and a key element in ASD is the role of the amygdala in the genesis of OCD. Early stages of OCD involve PFC inhibition, so cortical consciousness but if Untreated or partially treated or other comorbidities come up - it shifts to a dorsal mechanism - habit mode bypassing frontal parts. This ventral to dorsal shift is described here - psychscenehub.com/psychinsights/obsessive-compulsive-disorder-a-primer-on-diagnosis-and-treatment/

Hi, Doc. Is there any chance for being treated of OCD without emotional blunting because using higher doses of SSRIs cause much more feeling like emotional numbness. Thank you in advance!

I've had obsessive compulsive disorder most of my life it is ruined my life I've had evil thoughts and had acted out some of my fantasies including being arrested for terroristic threats a few times I have nightmares that you wouldn't believe I'm 63 years old I can remember events and memories going back 50 years or so but most have been bad memories no medicine has ever helped me I just hold it in listening to adult contemporary tear-jerk of music I play helps out some for instance there's a song called an Angel by The Kelly family that I cry from beginning to end every single time I play it and I played about a dozen times a day the official HD video one one thing that has happened to me movies do affect people I saw a movie called when I was a kid I saw a movie called beyond the door in 1974 with Juliet Mills it was a rip off of The exorcist but it scared me so bad I still have nightmares of Juliet Mills as the she demon at my bedside sometime she is the scariest person of evil I've ever seen in my life and still affects me today even though I've obsessed with the movie and I've seen it over 100 times your video is amazing and it started my slow healing process thank you very much for this video I wouldn't want I wouldn't want to watch this disease on anybody to wish this disease on anybody God bless you for this video

Try Ketamine, friend. Then while on the therapy put yourself in an environment where everything in your daily routine is disrupted and avoid all triggers or activities of any significant personal interest. Stay stimulated constantly with new activities. Interaction with various people is a good way to do this. Do this for 3 months or more. Everything your life strengthens the brain pathways that compel OCD behavior forward. If you change as much as you can and introduce an agent that allows rapid remoldeling than you might have a chance to break free.

Sir , does PFC help human to control their sexual desire every time it occurs? Sir please let me know your valuable remarks 🙏
@PsychiatrySimplified2 жыл бұрын
Prefrontal cortex is part of a network - specific parts of the pfc are part if a reward network of which sexual reward is one. It has many functions. It is best through if a regulator.
