Thanks for all your engaging videos! Have a question though - Have you totally switched from Evernote to Obsidian? I switched from Evernote to Obsidian as soon as I heard about the change of ownership and price adjustment, but now that they seem to have settled, I want to go back to Evernote... As I miss the file structure; the catalogs, the calendar, quick notes and their mobile app. The problem is that I have almost 2500 notes in obsidian that are "about" my studies, so I cannot afford to lose all the links and tags et.c. because then I will not find my notes. What would you do in my situation - go back to Evernote or stay with Obsidian until the studies are over? ...the only problem is that all "attached" files in Obsidian end up somewhere else than in the document itself... Please help me, thank you! /Stefan

First, I still think Evernote is the best tool for most people, simply because it is super intuitive. In other words, there is no need to worry about fiddling around with things like the attachments you mentioned. I am enjoying Obsidian because there is a dormant geek in me that wakes up from time to time. By the way, have you watched this other video about Obsidian attachments? There's also an upcoming article about this topic. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4GQi4xvgrqia6M As for your question, that's a tough one to answer. Moving notes to different apps and keeping the links is never an easy task. That said, you don't need to delete them from Obsidian. If you decide to move, keep them there as a backup. Also, moving might be an opportunity to review your materials. Again, it's not an easy decision, but I'd say you should think about your studies first. Both apps are good for that. Maybe the real question is: Is it worth switching at this point? Is the difficulty you are having with attachments enough to justify the discomfort of switching, or is it just a minor inconvenience?

Do you know if there is a way to use it to post substack notes?

Not that I'm aware of. On that note, I'd suggest you be careful with putting all your eggs in that basket. I talked about this in a recent article: 👇 vladcampos.com/2024/04/26/time-to-say.html

@@vladcampos thanks! I agree, but my main concern is trying to find a sense of community- I feel that is much harder off of the main platforms like substack
