That's because cats naturally will try to disturbe their environment as little as they can, after all most of them are solitary ambush predators that often are not even the apex in their area (we talk small cats, the ones our home cats are descendants of), dogs on the another hand are not only social but because of their packs they are maybe not necessarily an apex but close to it, hence why they don't need to hide their presence so much, as what are you gonna do when you find a wolve pack? Atack it? Yea gl with that, the moment you atack one you gonna have 5 more biting at your legs even bears often avoid the areas where they know a large pack is located. And yes bears are smart, most large predators are. Additionally dogs are less nimble than cats (even if we compare same sized animals) as they have different hunting strategies

This is an indicator of evolution. This test was one that was going to advantage the cats due to the nature of it and the personalities as well as physically evolved purposes of different animals. Give them a water crossing and how would one score that? Smarter? More athletic? There's a reason fish stay in the water. Animals optimally function in different ways. Cat's stalk and prowl from the brush and weeds and therefore evolved to walk through things like this. The dog does not hunt that way and if so inclined and motivated, could have the cat for its dinner. There is no real thinking on the cats part here. To them, this is like stalking mice in the garden. Their initial hesitation was more likely because "Hey, this wasn't here before." Oddly enough, if we were primitives living on the Savanna we would want dogs as companions to help warn us of the cats that want to eat us. Evolution is action.

"Oh but they are disciplined, and they obey their leader. It's impossible to defeat them." Ah, then we will impose democracy on them. Democratic propaganda! We will promote the most democratic way. "Oh, but they have nationalism! They will sacrifice themselves to protect their land." Ah, we will spread globalist ideology. Remove all notions of nationalism and patriotism, promote these ideas as evil. Turn them against each other so they will hate their own country and race. "Oh, but they also have incredible faith in God! They have such faith in God that they never abandon the front." Ah, then let's promote atheism and hedonism. Church time is over. From now on, only night clubs and pornography. They must be open about sex. "Oh, but the youth are healthy and strong. They're in formidable shape. They are the way the Creator made them: in his image." Ok then, from now on McDonald's, Coca-Cola, drugs, alcohol, video games. Let them be fat, lazy, weak, domesticated, undisciplined. We must abolish military service. "Ah... yeah but the other thing is that they are homogenous. They are a single people, a single race. There is no ethnic chaos." Ok, then in whatever way, we must send them boats with foreigners - whites, blacks, Asians, Muslims, Chinese. "But they have a lot of babies! 6 or 7 babies on average! They're happy to have large families!" Ok, from now on abortion, the pill. You have now defeated that island without firing a single bullet.

your dog is very smart then. I think it takes way more intelligence to recognize that you can get through the obstacles without hurting yourself, than it takes to simply dodge them. As you see in the video the dogs actually have a smarter approach and always interact with the situation in some ways, before deciding what to do. It looks funny and adorable but in the end they are doing what humans would also do in an unfamiliar situation.

@@kiro253 yeah, to a dog owner it definitely appears to be them trying to study the thing to figure out how to make it through. It's why they take so many angles and get so nervous and pace

Good idea, sharp pencils for your pets to impale themselves on if they try to jump over the obstacle. Youre very smart

As someone who's has cats all their life, it's like they don't even have to think about obstacles. Their legs just tend to avoid them. It's quite interesting how they always know exactly where to place each foot.

It’s their instinct for stealth in action. Leopards do the same thing while stalking. The difference between stepping on dirt or dry leaves can be what decides if they will get to eat.

I also. Cats are the greatest!!! Once a German shepherd cornered my cat aggressively. My cat quickly scratched his nose and the dog took off.

The dogs are actually really smart about this They know they are too big so they go at it from the side to minimize damage to the thing that they believe their owner spend a lot of time make
