The answer to your question about if there's "gold in the trenches" if we could pull the ocean back.....yes, there is. The gentleman who owns the Discoversea Shipwreck Museum on Fenwick Island in Delaware, Dale W. Clifton, told a story and showed those of us listening a solid gold bar he pulled out of the Atlantic Ocean during a storm. He tied himself to his Jeep and waded out into the surf during a big storm. And, he got a big reward! Highly recommend visiting his museum if you're near Ocean City or Rehoboth Beach. It's worth it. He has amazing stories and a wonderland of treasures, some from the Titanic and its sister ship the RMS Republic, among many other artifacts from local shipwrecks. Will be in OBX this Fall for the first time. Got the medal detectors all ready to roll. Thanks for a great video!

That is an honest question and a difficult one with no clear answer. I do love that individual's resting place though. Thanks for taking us to the beach, I have missed it so much.

There was a hotel on the NC coast where all the rich people hung out, and sadly in the late 1800s, it was wiped out into the sea, and that night the hotel was booked solid! Imagine what was(or is) there!

Hey dude , I just watched your video and have metal detected the Outer Banks many times. Switching it up this year I have purchased an Equinox 900 and hope the finds will increase from the past. Although the finds have been few and far between the times have been priceless. I will try around the pier you mentioned and some hotel hot spots. Wish me luck. Thanks for the video.

Hey Matt, it would be interesting to know who that ID was from. The person that scattered those ashes probably had no idea that was in their. They may want to have that as a memento of their loved one. If it were from my family, I know that I would like to have it. There is a company that will put ashes on a tiny vessel that they put out to sea and it drifts for one year and you get to track it on Google Earth. You can build a memorial page and have other people watch it's journey. After one year it will self scuttle or if it's in a place that you want your loved one to be forever, they will scuttle it there. It will also self scuttle if it gets within 100 feet of the shore line.

I have never found a crematory tag but I have heard you’re supposed to throw them back. I think it’s kind of like never detect a cemetery thing.

Depends on the location. Not on the National seashore but everywhere else is fine
