Just got done watching power pak’s video of the my MYHOUSE wad and after finding out this remix might had played a roll inspiring the feeling of that masterpiece. Wow. This version of the song sounds like finally being able to take a breath and live the rest of your days in ease after surviving through pain, agony, and trauma. And like we lost a lot along the way but its time to just breathe

This was the first remix I listened to on OCR over 20 years ago. I just watched Power Pak's video on "MyHouse" the recently released monument to Doom on its 30th anniversary. Power Pak mentions at the end of the video that there is a reference to "231" in the text writing that comes with the map. After googling "Doom 231" it led him to Rimco's "Doomed" ReMix as it is #231 in OCR's release. If that is the real reason for the reference to 231 then I think it's fitting that this beautiful remix has its place in helping inspire this amazing map, and its place in helping to celebrate 30 years of Doom.

The main reason for 231 is probably a hint for the sequence of dreams you need to do in order to progress without locking yourself out. First you do the second dream from the journal, then the third one, then the first one.

Hey. I've had this song on my computer for about 10 years. I don't know who Rimco is or what happened to him but I hope he reads this. This has been one of my favorite tracks for years now, and I listen to it when times are rough. Its a sad yet beautiful track, and although it only has 10k views, it means a ton to me. The piano at the end is beyond beautiful. I've been trying to write music for years and was always jealous I could never make anything like the last part of this song.

Funny to see this song gain so much traction because of the Power Pak video. I remember listening to this song in high school, back when I was a shitty angsty teen. I remember having burnt CD's and mini-disks with this song and Remix 969 from Wolfenstein. This particular song made it into a newgrounds cartoon/youtube video I posted (holy shit I just looked it up) 17 years ago. I won't share it cuz I'm not proud of it or the language I used to use, but I don't remember my emails/passwords to log in and delete them so they're forever out there to be cancel-worthy material for me at some point in the future. lmfao I just watched the video and I didn't even credit the actual artist who made the remix, I credited ID Software. Anyway, fantastic remake of my absolute favorite song from the DOOM franchise. Was happy to hear hints of it in the newer DOOM games, but nothing can hold a candle to the original or this remix.

This song and by extension the entirety of OCRemix helped me through a really awful first job by giving me some great tracks to listen to. This song always was on my playlist since I loved Doom, Half Life, Goldeneye etc and something about this track was always so soothing even through I was having an awful day and time. I got robbed at gunpoint at that job numerous times, long hours, treated awfully by management...this song just brought all that back but in a way: I'm glad I've long left that place and moved on. One of my favorite details of MyHouse.wad's music, is that you can hear Sign of Evil in RUNNIN2, the version of Running from Evil that constantly gets worse and worse, at the 9:15 mark. Just like how you can hear the base of Running from Evil in the intro of memory=entryrrrr/////, is a fantastic attention to detail to show how these songs are all still in Doom

Each time I hear this music, I'm reminded of global warming. Forest fires, warming oceans, extinctions, and it being caused by humans despite being warned. All of it happening so quickly and life cannot adapt fast enough. Almost every day for the past 3 months, it has been over 100 degrees F (high) for me. It is not a bad thing for this music to remind me of this. I am grateful for this music.
