I just moved to Ocala from N.Y. SW Ocala is developing quickly with New Build communities. Working class communities but still having good older neighborhoods.

i take it many of your viewers don't know the nickname for Ocala or (Slocala) as many will call it, i lived and work there for most of my 20 years in the state(1985-2005) always interesting to see the videos of Florida

You need to travel the East and southeast parts of Ocala.. That's the best places.... South toward the Villages as well Belleview and Summerfield. Forget the City and the Westside

You guys talking about moving. You cannot move to anywhere in Florida right now because of increased property taxes, skyrocketing insurance, insanely over priced housing, and high interest rates. If you buy a house in Florida right now you better bring some soap because you’re gonna take a bath.

My wife’s family is from Ocala. Therefore I go there a lot. Have been going there for the past 25 yrs. that town is looking more run down every time I go. Been from Naples where if a building is old.. it’ll go down and new one will go up and if there’s a pot hole in the street, the whole street gets paved. Ocala in the other hand.. everything is old and old runner down! Very time we decided to move there and see the schools for the kids and what it has to offer... we end up running back in Naples. Yes Cuban food and Mexican food sucks!

Jose you are right about lots of people being in denial. This video of Ocala shows some of the nicer areas of the city but looks are decieving because according to AreaVibes the crime rate in Ocala is 78% higher then the Florida average. Lots of drug dealing and lots of crime in Ocala

I’ve lived in Ocala for several years and my parents now for over 20 years and have never felt safer. I come from a big city where shootings happen regularly no matter where you live and here is so quiet.
