Tips for other Zelda games should you do this challenge in them: In a link to the past, the lanmolas can be killed with the ice rod, the armos knights can be killed with the bow, the bug net can reflect Agahnims magic, and mothula can be killed by a bee. In the wind waker, phantom ganon's projectiles can be reflected with a bottle. In twilight princess, possessed zelda's projectiles can be reflected with a bottle. In a link between worlds, the bug net can damage enemies and reflect yuga ganon's magic.

It is actually possible to use the hammer to damage Bongo Bongo. You need to take out the hammer, then guard, and attack with the hammer, all without L-targeting. If done correctly, Link should be crouching and attacking very quickly, thrusting the hammer forward. This method works on Dead Hand, too!

The deku stick being usable while broken happens when you hit something twice with it in the air before hitting the ground (e.g. jumpslashing the lizalfos). Also deku sticks do more damage than the sword, its 2x stronger

I did this challenge several years ago and even made a gamefaqs thread about it. Surprised someone so famous did it too. I 100% the game and used early kokiri escape to skip getting the kokori sword until the very end of the game. (Getting fairy ocarina moves Mido from blocking the deku tree). Only requirement for kokiri sword is child fishing.

Funfact: You can also not finish Twilight Princess without using the Master Sword, you cannot reflect the Electric Balls of Zelda being Ganon's Puppet, you need to use the Master Sword to reflect them, and while you actually can hurt Dark Beast Ganon with Wolf Link, you cannot use the Ordon Sword in his last phases as well, because he won't take any damage with the Ordon Sword equipped

Sorry, man. I knew going into this vid that ganon can’t be defeated without using the master sword. I literally just beat oot 3ds, I think on the day this vid came out, too, and I was using the biggoron sword. I also got to the point where ganon wasn’t taking any damage from it, and I realized I needed the master sword to finish him off. But the fact that you got to the very end without using a sword is incredible

Could you use the Giant's Knife from Medigoron? It's a knife not a sword. It still does damage after breaking. Apparently if you keep fixing the Giant's Knife it gets stronger each time going from four to up to eight strikes before breaking. (Three strikes against walls)
