So why is this a great video…….. 1. The music……. What’s not to like…… jazzzzzzzzzzz 😎 2. The self-deprecation……. ‘I’m not an expert’……. but who is? We all approach this hobby with our own techniques, we do our own thing, we listen and learn from others, and gradually we progress and improve 3. Fantastic filming…… we can always see what Alex is doing, fingers and thumbs don’t get in the way 4. The general vibe that modelling is just a GREAT thing to do 💕

just recently discovered this channel apologies if this has already been suggested but soaking brass parts in a mixture of salt and vinegar will give them an aged appearance

Nice Job, the kit manufactures could Make the brass parts black from the beginning but the detail you are putting in this model is nice to see

Muchas gracias!! Congratulations for the way of counting and guiding in the construction of the Albatross, it is helping me a lot to build mine. I would like to ask you a question, I am older and I see less and less, and I have seen that you use magnifying glasses to work in the form of a helmet, could you please tell me what they are called? So I can buy one just like it. Thanks a lot!!

Hi @AlexModeling this question is for you! 😊

At 14:59 the piece you didn't know the name of and that you are attaching to the mast is called a crosstree. It's used to spread the topmast shrouds. Also, the ropes you're attaching to the deadeyes should be black, for future reference, they were coated with tar to protect the lines from the harsh marine environment.

You`re doing a great job, Alex. I really want to try it myself, but am still hesitating😐. I think the model has a historical precedent. Are there some infos about the real ship available?
