OCCULTIST IS THE NEW BEST HERO | Darkest Dungeon 2

Buy that Occultist stock before it spikes. Malediction feels so great now and is a true boss killer tool. Wyrd still a bit iffy, but overall the changes are very positive. Makes me hopeful for the future as the other heroes get tweaked, and I wouldn't say Occultist is finished by any means either.

Ever since I started playing sorcerers and wizards in other games, I’ve gained a huge amount of appreciation for Occultist He’s not just a regular wizard or dark mage. He’s specifically a turban wearing, eldritch pact making, tentacle slinging warlock. It’s such a unique character and most of the other DD cast have similar unique quirks that make them different but still recognisable as standard char. archetypes.

Something that may be confusing (and left me confused when I read the patch notes), 1 death armor is automatically used when hitting Death's door, so enemies that had little to none still die after one hit. When I was fighting the Librarian, I almost had 2 characters die because of him being able to survive one hit at death's door instead of him usually being taken out at the first.

Yeah, most enemies that had 25% DBR before have 2 Death Armor now. It means Execution skills like Wicked Slice or Sacrificial Stab are a lot more valuable now.

The upgraded curses are just so nice, which gives him things to do that don't involve 100% chaotic offering uptime. He basically has moveslot syndrome now! Love this dude, gonna run him until I'm totally burned out.

In a game as damaged focus as DD2 it’s really nice we now have a pretty competent debuff/control option that really hurts the enemy team in a way that isn’t simply killing them as quickly as possible directly.

I got an idea for a new boss. This lair boss is called the False one/Mimic etc. He will transform into random or predetermined characters. However, at a specific turn, health or event, he will turn into a new hero. This hero is only unlockable after you kill the mimic when he's in this form. The mimic cannot transform at deaths door/Zero health. Thoughts? Personally, this gives veteran players more incentive to do more.

In the field hospital. There you can lock positive quirks and remove negative ones

Pull and kill the heads. Reach has always been the way to deal with the Collector, it's going to be a pain in the ass without it, but it's doable.

There's more ways to counteract it now. It can be dodged, the eye can even be blinded, and a hero loses all seen tokens when stealthed.

DD2 looks good, great even, but it DD1 clearly had a more unique atristic "charm" to it, and we all know it.
