Wouldn't that be a bit overboard with serotonergic activity, adding an SNRI? My understanding is that serotonin syndrome is in fact pretty rare, but doesn't that increase the chance of it happening?

No problem at all. Here’s a shocker for you though-I was once treated WAY OVERBOARD for several months on a Rx cocktail of fluoxetine 80mg + desvenlafaxine 200mg + buproprion 300mg + Desoxyn®️ [methamphetamine HCl] 30mg + mirtazapine 120mg + alprazolam 10mg + oxycodone 30mg [+ PRN cyproheptadine 12mg as needed for serotonin toxicity; only had to take it ONCE]. I’m surprised I’m still alive. My private physcians have given me cocktails that even Michael Jackson would be afraid of…
