It definitely takes practice. Exposure is key.. developing the strength to overcome it by consistently facing it, until the idea or thought or symptoms don’t even bother you anymore

Hey - Yes exposures are key but if the main fears don't change exposures typically are not enough for us.

Like this Nick. So allow the trigger, discomfort to be there and don't try challenge it, disprove or analyse it. Just let it be.

Yes, that part is critical. We bring that for the ride, day in and day out, whilst we break our fears down.

How should we deal with triggers that aren’t only intrusive thoughts, but triggers in the world like if the universe specifically throws the triggers your way to keep you in the cycle of fear ?

Hey Freethemind - This is where unconditional life acceptance comes into play.

What do you do when thoughts of your breathing flood in. I can’t concentrate to visit I have to focus on my breathing make sure I’m breathing
@OCDrecoveryNick19 сағат бұрын
Hey Nom - It comes down to not 'needing' a perfect breathe. Also, we will need to take the risk and learn to accept we may pass out from loss of focus on our breathing.
