Sam, I think a lot of ocd themes comes from the need of wanting to be loved and accepted, and OCD keeps reminding and telling you why yo cannot be that person, making you doubt your own humanity and therefore questioning if you are worthy of anything, making yourself your own worst enemy at times. It almost feels like an internal war, Feelings of guilt, anxiety and fear make you feel in survival mode, and you are only fighting your own self. At least that is how it feels to me.

That's painfully accurate.

Hi Sam, without realising I’ve been suffering from OCD for the past 2 years with intense dissociation. I’m so confused about everything, I don’t trust any of my thoughts, it’s turmoil. My question is, where do I start? I feel like I need a plan (could be another compulsion 🤔) what can I do to help myself?

I went all sorts of lengths like we all do my friend lol.

I just went one length and came back home.

Can you talk about how OCD distorts our perception of our partner and our relationship? And is there a way to get it back?
@OCDrecoveryNickАй бұрын
Hey Danielly - Acceptance of worst-case scenarios is key, anything we try and chase and bolt down tends to become an issue.

@@OCDrecoveryNick no acceptance doesn't help. Reducing your fear helps. Acceptance in OCD will depress you.

@@OCDrecoveryNick ok! and can rocd cause resistance in love too? like loving that person or the word "love" itself sounds too sickening?
@OCDrecoveryNickАй бұрын
@@mannagarwal5390 This is not true. This is what this whole channel is about, acceptance. Reducing the fear is caused by acceptance.
