Hi there: I started my hotel career in ocean City the summer of 1971 working as a desk clerk @ the Dipolmat Hotel @ 26th Street on the boardwalk. In the next 38 years I managed hotels all over the US from one coast to the other. From California to Florida & everywhere in between. In 2009 after managing hotels for 38 years I retired & now live in West Palm Beach, Florida. Really enjoy your videos!

Enjoyed the live stream so much ...glad I remembered to "tune in." ( and I didn't "mess up " and lose you ).Looking forward to the video of the Island Ponies . Heard and read about them in school ( a "few" years ago , lol ) . Will be amazing to see. Thank you so much for the effort you made for the live stream ....walking ( and narrating ) for over 2 miles is no "walk in the park". Another great job.

Last time I was in Ocean City, MD was 1991. I was a student at the University of Scranton doing research in the wetlands nearby for a marine biology class. Thanks for talking me back there. It looks better than ever. I highly recommend a different Beach experience though. Hatteras Island, NC, is amazing. The drive there from NEPA is a bit of a beast, but it's a great drive, too. We liked to set out at night and arrive early in the morning. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is a sight to behold at sunrise, and you beat all the traffic if you get to the Outer Banks by 8 or 9 am. Hatteras Island is amazing, a thin ribbon of sand that reaches out about 20 miles into the Atlantic. Much of it is Pea Island wildlife refuge and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, with only Rt 12 as the sole bit of civilization, with uninterrupted views from the beach right across to Albemarle Sound, especially striking when the island is like a half-mile wide. You'll be surrounded by nature for many miles, then come up upon the little towns like Rodanthe, Avon, Frisco, filled with big beach houses, but a relative few restaurants and tourist trap attractions. Visit Cape Hatteras lighthouse, the Graveyard of the Atlantic museum, and a great afternoon trip is the ride to Ocracoke from Hatteras Island. Follow highway 12 Thru the unique Frisco woods to the end of the road in Hatteras Village. Take the free ferry from there to Ocracoke Island. See the horses on Ocracoke, the British Cemetery, and then see the village around the small harbor and have lunch or dinner in the fresh air overlooking Silver Lake (the harbor). I could go on and on, but I'll stop. It's a magical place.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but the Hooters on 123rd St and Coastal has been closed for a few years... My family used to take a yearly vacation to OCMD and we would stay at Frontier Town Campground... GREAT family campground with their own water park, mini golf, and western theme attraction. They also have a shuttle that runs to and from the city all day. I love your vids man!!! Keep up the great work!!! I'm from NEPA, Tunkhannock to be specific... lol

Hi from NYC. We usually go to the Jersey shore but we are heading down to Maryland this summer. We heard there is alot of crime. Is North OC safer than south? Or vise versa? We found a hotel on the boardwalk and booked then canceled we found out it has bed bugs. Is that a problem on the entire boardwalk ? It was not a cheap hotel. Any suggestions for hotels for handicapped?
@JPVideos815 жыл бұрын
I recommend staying in a condo like we did. We were about 15mins from boardwalk. Didnt have any issues with crime along coastal hwy.

Wow! I haven't been to O.C. in years. My entire fam (parents, aunts, uncles, & cousins) used to go every Summer through my elementary years. Sad to see they replaced the walk through haunted house with Manor Motel. I remember there used to be a guy at the end that would chase everybody with a chainsaw...lol. When you saw the sunlight peeking through the door you'd get a feeling of relief. But only for a split second, then it was run for your life! GOOD TIMES...🍻

It starts (or ends) at 27th street, and ends at the inlet, depending on how you look at it
