Everyone is talking about the song and cultural appropriation. Can we talk about how beautiful their costumes are? I die for the fabric. And the jewelry is stunning and I love how their heir is braided, it lends itself to the sea nymph image. Salt water in hair isn't soft and billowing and big, it forms almost "dreadlocks" kinda look. I think this is a beautiful piece of dance with mixed levels of dancers, the music choice is irrelevant as it's more about how the beat and tempo allow the dancers to move rather than the lyrics having any meaning to the dance, I think it's lovely that lena allows her students to show case their progression and helps to build their confidence ❤💪🦄

That is exactly what distinguish amateurs from professionals. The details. This kind of dance tells stories with the movements, and this story and this song are mismatching, distracting. I don't mean any rudeness, just stating a point to take into consideration when designing choreographs. A choreography that can be matched with any song, is never a good story.
