Brilliant to watch! Thank you so much for uploading these underwater drills. Learning so much just by watching.

Thank god i watched this. I recently purchased one and was wondering if i would need to remove the mask and use a regular reg and mask for my pony but i can use the quick release hose. So happy :)

Cool to see how skilled they are. I also have such mask but i’m facing some issues with the nose closure. It seems that I need possible 2 different sizes since for 1 nose to just does not fit

It wont fall out of your mouth. I have gone deep sea diving, and as long as you have the required training, it will not be a problem.

It's never a problem - you forget it's there and it becomes a tool along with your breathing :)

AMAZING. I was researching this as the Thai rescue of the boys used a similar device it seems.

U can clear a flooded mask by a Quick release valve? no need to blow ur nose? And, u can let ur aired out buddy breathe just by clipping on?
@kingsman845 жыл бұрын
Just a tip for all you wood be divers out there. When removing your masks dont hold your breath like the diver in the video very slowly breathe out as you do any drill. Rule number one as a diver. Never hold your breath. These masks will become a industry standard over the next 10 years as prices come down. They are so much easier to dive with.

Funny I was looking for this comment, thought the same thing when I was watching the video. I have a full face mask Ocean Reef Neptune and regularly practice replacing it... Never once held my breath like that.. Rule number 1.

between $800 and $1500. Depends on how fancy you want it. With heads up display and radio communication it will probably be around 1500

Personally I would not strap it all the way on before clearing my mask just in case you didn’t have a good clear you can put your reg back in quick but good video over all

I just bought this went through some training and feel comfortable but realized at no point was it covered what would happen if you vomit while wearing the ffm. With a standard regulator you vomit through it. In this I imagine you may have to take it off??? Anyone have videos or training material on this?

Hello There That is a very interesting question! :) We have many tutorials on how to remove the mask while underwater and substitute with a conventional mask. Here the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ_Cpql8jNqjaac

@OceanReefGroup4 жыл бұрын
as in the videos, you should tune the reg to minimum (adj knob) and if that is "not enough" you can (if you have a professional mask), turn the air deflector to a full close.

Need to get a quick connect on my octopus ...

This video is really funny. I would like to see panicking diver with no air disconnecting hose and waiting for buddy connecting his octopus hose :D I tell you what would happen. Panicking diver would rip off his full mask. Then he would either attack his buddy trying to search for octopus. Possibly not finding it when seeing everything blurry. And or, more likely swimming to the surface holding breath and dying on the surface. Since all guys wearing full face mask I've ever seen were just recreational divers, last option is most probable. Don't know any technical diver using full face mask. Simple is the best. Even when it means little discomfort. In emergency it would pay off milion times.
@brandonm10884 жыл бұрын
A lot of safety divers wear them, basically any time surface to depth communication needs to happen. So I doubt deep sea researchers, camera crews, safety divers, etc are just recreational sport divers. For grabbing the octo you would just follow the normal procedure of having the secondary ready and in place before removing your current gas source. I do agree the quick disconnect seems unlikely haha

@@brandonm1088 Well, you are right. But you are talking about working divers who are experienced and aware of all risks involved. But I see dive shop happily selling FFM to divers with less than 20 dives in their logbook just because full mask is better revenue for the shop! This is what iritates me a bit.
@OceanReefGroup4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Petr for your feedback. Of course we do never wish an emergency situation to happen, but we want to help our divers to be comfortably prepared in those cases. Full Face masks are getting more and more popularity and we always recommend trainings to beginners divers. Nowadays many commercial divers, rescue divers, trainers, medias crew are using our masks and they all state more comfort and safety thanks also to the communication tools. Also you need to consider the emergency situation in which a diver loses consciousness. With the conventional mask, the divers would lose the regulator and the possibility to breath, while with the full face mask the airflow would be still consistent saving the diver life.

@@petrsedlak4761 True about the training and people should have professional training with gear like this and run through the proper skills. In my experience every dive shop I have been has been very responsible about gear sales and at least made me aware of challenges that I should be aware of when working with new gear. So if someone gets injured with one of these masks it's because the diver either was dishonest about their experience OR the dive shop was negligent, which is rare(for me at least). End of the day, there is probably a PADI specialty for it haah

A few minutes, after which they become exhausted and can easily fall prey of local predators.

Im confused....is he holding his breath?? I thought that was a NO NO?? If this was happening at 90 feet then I do not believe this method would work. I would like to see a video of the actual step by step process. As I am confused if water entered your mask and you try to clear your mask of water. How are you exhaling or inhaling with both mouth and nose full of water in a mask?

how do you wear a hood with it ? doesn't it break the seal ?
@snowbankvevo22439 жыл бұрын
The Vape Escape It depends on what kind of hood specifically. A neoprene hood will not break the seal, but as you descend, boyle's law will take effect, and the air cells in the hood will compress, but if you tighten and adjust the mask as you descend, there should be no problem. However, you CAN get a hood designed for full face masks (FFMs)

@christopher3996 жыл бұрын
I'm a newbie, but I have lost the regulator once - someone accidentally kicked it out. It's not as dramatic as it may sound. You just put it back in again and get the water out. It's very simple and you will practice it a few times before you get certified.
