Great and very helpful instructions. I’ve just ordered mine. The only thing I’m wondering is the best practice of using the surface valve when waiting for other divers to jump and start the dive. Sometimes this may take 5 to 10 mins if you jump first. If we open the surface valve does it stop the air flow from the tank? Suppose it does, then what happens if we forget to close surface valve and start to dive? Will it start the airflow from the tank automatically? I saw you demonstrated that open surface valve generates bubles underwater but ı am interested in best practice of using it.

The SAVIII is a Surface Air Valve or ambient air valve. When you open it the airflow from outside has a path of least resistance and thus your 2nd stage is not activated. This way you are not breathing through your tank, but from the outside. Once you submerge the valve (either because you are in rough seas or because you are initiating your descent) you will automatically start to draw air from your 2nd stage - tank. There are different models of SAVs. G.Divers, Professional SAV and SAV III. the SAVIII (included on all Neptune IIIs, has a valve system that avoids it to get water to leak in IF you do forget it open upon descent. Air though will come out from the valve while descending. this is useful for you to notice and to remember to close the valve. Should water leak in - for example if you use a Professional SAV which does not have a valve to prevent water leaking in - you should not worry. Breathing through your 2nd stage will purge water automatically when you exhale. It is very important though to understand that you did left the valve open and that water is leaking in; to then close the valve, purge the mask and continue your dive. SAVs will be depending on your positioning (in or out of the water) and, very important, from your gas in your tank! But this is of course a basic of Scuba diving that is not related to the SAV.

The one thing that I'm wondering though is that when he was underwater there was no octopus but then when the next clip rolled around there was?

Exactly where are you referring to? The diver is wearing the octopus at all times.

Hallo. Tolles Video. Sie schreiben das es nichts aus macht den schlauch von der maske zu entfernen. Kann ich also für einen Test nur mit Maske unter Wasser. Oder läuft dann Wasser in das System?

Hi! I am afraid I might not have understood the question correctly. There will be no water running into the connection even when the hose is disconnected. But we don't recommend for you to test the mask underwater without any air source.

But, I got a question. When you change the Hose with the QC it will come a little bit water into your system, the second stage. But this isn’t good, or not?
