Ocean View House, in a misty Staithes Sept 2024

We stayed in Ocean View House in High Barrass in Staithes old harbour village two weeks ago; September 6th to 10th 2024.....
What was good:
Possibly the best view of the harbour and Barrass Square in the whole of Staithes. Nicely turned out. Clean. Spacious, eccentric and charismatic.
What was bad:
The bed in the main bedroom gets saturated on one side because either the plumbing to the dish washer directly above it, has a severe leak, or much more likely, the flashing on both sides of the kitchen/diner floor's windows needs to be addressed, as the corner of the kitchen/diner above the TV also gets saturated.
Included in the protracet rant the female Stay in Staithes proprietor issued in response to my discreet raising of these issues, was that the roof had recently had attention. Well, I would question the truth in that, for one reason or another.
It appears the owners of Stay in Staithes, the management agents of four properties in the old village, has still learned nothing about good customer service since the husband shouted in the background, "We're playing golf!" when we had to contact them with an issue about lack of hot water at Harbour view a few years ago.
It is interesting that the female Stay in Staithes proprietor wrote, "Why didn't you tell us while you were here??" [sic]. Perhaps she genuinely failed to understand that structural improvements to the roof might take a little longer to arrange, than the four nights we were there and perhaps they'd want to wait until guests are not present before doing so in any event.
I alerted the agency proprietors in good faith, but it is my view that because feedback is pretty much a closed loop to their own web site, they behave with impunity towards guests. I have used Stay in Staithes for the last of the six times I have booked with them. The hubris is just not a good look.
