7 Seal Rescues In 2 Minutes

There is shouting, screaming, and lots of running around and catching seals: the team captures seven seals in less than two minutes. They do not even have enough nets to keep up; they quickly cut and let the animals go as they come to free up resources. Some seals are already wounded, while others get away without damage to their skin. The rescue team is high on adrenaline but cannot allow themselves to slow down and catch their breath. If they miss this opportunity, there might not be another one. 🦭

5 of 7 they got before anything happened to them. 2 of 7 they got after it began to get nasty. 7 of 7 didn’t get the experience of suffocating while the entanglement cuts sooo deep down. Those 2 hurt puppies got so lucky to be caught. Holy wow. 😬

It always amazes me to see them take the first easy breath as soon as the restriction is cut. What a relief. When you run after them I try and see exactly what you see and it’s not easy at all. The speed at which you work to cut these horrible entanglements is incredible; you limit the stress for these young seals…even though they must not particularly like being caught, I am convinced they know you are there to help them! 😌🙏😍
