@@PaulWorldZoom I was there for a month last year - mid September into October. I'd been talking online with a lady for a year and felt we needed to meet to find out whether we really connected as well as we did online. We did. Tacloban is a decent sized city and that's where I will base myself on the trip next month. I did spend some time bin Southern Leyte and that's pretty remote but beautiful and so welcoming. My upcoming trip will be longer - 2 months, punctuated with a couple of weeks in Vietnam (seemed like the best way to satisfy 30 day exit requirement) Who knows - maybe during my second month, I might explore and find myself in Dumaguete.

Hello Paul , very nice place to rent to bad about the power pole right in front , the only problem of me maybe the noise factor , I tend to find places at the rear of the building when I travel , as you know they love there loud music and karaoke . When I am traveling of staying in 1 place for any length of time I am able to make a month to month deal when I get clean bedding every 2 to 3 days and the maid will come in every day at sometime it could be in the morning or late afternoon to clean up etc and that works out to about 30,000 php I also always leave her a few peso or some chocolate , they will also take your laundry and pick up for you. The main reason I do it this way its always easy to move if you really don't like the area where you are , I have been doing it this way for years and it works for me . Thanks Paul great video.

Very nice plan and strategy. I have never really tried that, but it makes perfect sense. I have friends that move from island to island every couple of months. They love it. Like you said in the video the better views would be in the apartments above thereby moving above the power cable pole. It looks like the rental price is for the square footage and iconic location rather than what is provided in terms of furnishings and mod cons. I would be reluctant to fork out that kind of rent tied into a yearly contract given the dated aircon, the lack of soundproofing and the requirement to completely modernise and furnish the place.

38,500 pesos = about $770US - Amazing. Sounds like there's a trade-off between running AC and the street noise if you open the windows. One floor higher would get you above the transformer barrels marring the view. Balcony doesn't look like its wide enough to make much use of except maybe some potted plants. One would definitely need some seriously large rugs on those floors. How long a walk is it to the nearest grocery store?

Too expensive and the noise is terrible. Paying 40k (800 USD) is crazy money to pay for total insanity ( what you'll become ) with the noise all night. Personally.... so many better places to be fir alot less and minimal noise
