Yes, this building was designed for earthquake resistance, and if you watch one of our earlier videos on the Riva Di mare, you will see the immense columns and steel beams running throughout the structure. Plus the some of the frame of the building was already constructed in 2016 and it withstood everything and passed all inspections. Good afternoon Scot, so this being a condo I believe it would be possible, as long as your battery could tie into your fuse box. I'm not an electrician so I would defer to a professional in our network to be sure it could be done. And the outages in Manta recently have been due to the drought that the country is experiencing for the first time in 70yrs, so not a normal thing. The rainy season is already starting up again so the issue should resolve itself soon. Any other thoughts or questions feel free to ask. Have a great week!

Hello Ryan. Just the sort of property I'd be interested in.... IF you could give me a general idea of what this unit could be rented out for when I'm not using it. I would like 2, 2 months stays at the condo and rent it out the other 8 months. So a 2 month stay in the summer and a 2 month stay in the winter. What are the fees for such? Do you handle that sort of work as well?

Good morning and our apologies for missing your comment, so this Riva Di Mare tower is located right at the end of Restaurant Row so you are very close to many great amenities! Most foreigners to not purchase cars as many things are in walking distance, or a cheap taxi ride. But there are other foreigners who do like to have a personal vehicle just for the ease and freedom. Ecuador is a great place to retire and it has been listed in many major publications and websites as one of the top choices in the world! Hope that helps but feel free to ask about any other thoughts or questions you may have!

@@dovygoodguy1296 yes there are services that can help you with shopping and deliveries, and we can recommend some of them as well. For travel it is about to get even easier as we begin direct flights to and from Panama starting tomorrow June 27th! :)

@@EcuadorShoresRealty The big pain in the neck is that from many cities in Canada or the US you have to stop twice in the US, and then once in Quito or Bogotá yo get to Manta. So now you only have to get to Panama City and include at least one change in the US from Canada. I assume things will be easier departing Manta back to the US and Canada?. Is the situation going to improve also for getting to or departing Cuenca?

@@dovygoodguy1296 Yes things will continue to improve with the new airport terminal, and the additional flights it is slated to start allowing. They are going to be going direct the the Galapagos Islands which is a big deal of course, and they have plans to do GYE and Cuenca as well. And from Canada you should be able to go direct to Panama without stopping in the US, so that should save you some time as well. The future is looking good!

Not really. Try doing a search for condos in the greater Seattle area and you will see lots of two bedrooms that size and smaller, with a much higher HOA, no pools/jacuzzi, no gym, no spacious balcony with a million dollar view of the ocean, and all at least $100k more with double the HOA.
