In the grand scheme of things, it’s like a turning point for hero society as a whole. Just... between this and the 1-A confrontation, my tear ducts have been going beyond Plus Ultra.*

Uraraka's voice actress, Luci Christian, did a *phenomenal* job this episode. She was great before, but she really hits her stride in the later seasons, partly due to the fact that she gets more dramatic moments so she can flex her abilities. There are a couple of episodes in season 7 where she's just exceptional.

Ochako with the talk no jutsu! BTW, an interesting detail from the manga that was omitted from this episode was that Deku's Danger Sense was triggered when the crowd rejected Jeanist's speech. Just further sinks in that those people were just about ready to riot before Ochako stepped in.... scary. 😨

Thank you for that, they did a good job portraying all the rage/ emotions of the scene but I actually wish they kept that in. The animation style switching to something out of Attack on Titan was perfect but Danger Sense would have been the cherry on top.

Uraraka's driving motivation has always been to help those in need. Building on her desire to support her parents, she started to focus on an important question: "If heroes are focused on helping others, who will be there when the heroes need help?" And now, here's Medoria, the boy and hero she loves, in desperate need of being saved. This is the kind of hero that Uravity is-a truly kind soul who wants to help. Both fierce and compassionate, she has the makings of a wonderful hero.

This was a much needed slap face in the face to the Civilians they absolutely deserved it the second the Heroes messed up they were on their asses and kept insulting them like how can you in good conscience look at a person who has been beaten have to death and say "You should've done better ya worthless failure" it pissed me off that they forgot that Heroes are still only Human too. Also I love that Kohei Horikoshi Sensei brought back the Star Spike Headed Old Guy from way back in the beginning of the series to speak in Deku's defense it feels like a full circle kind of moment like back then he inadvertently supported Midoriya early on about his dream to become a Hero and now he comes back to support the kid again in his darkest moment it's a powerful scene.

All Might gave Deku the right to fight as a HERO, Uraraka gave Deku the right to rest as a HUMAN. As episode parallels S1 ep 2 with All Might telling Deku he too can become a hero and S1 ep 4 with Uraraka offering her points for entrance exam so that Deku could be accepted at UA for his hero academia. Deku's best girl got him to react like how he did to All Might telling him he could be hero. Only All Might and Uraraka made him react falling to his knees like that, with words to reach the depths of his soul.

After the best episode in MHA, this show just HAS to follow up with the best moment in the show. And they are VERY much so convincing me this is the best season in the entire show, and is one of the best ways to cap off the best arc in the show. It’s not FULLY complete, but it might as well have started the next preparations. (2 parter for everything NOT the Uraraka speech and the Uraraka speech. This is the not speech part.) Now I think it’s safe to say we can ALL collectively say that the public in this show just SUCKS. Not they aren’t poorly written, not that they don’t make sense coming to the conclusions they have when the villains strung them down this path LITERALLY FROM SEASON 1. Heck I’d even argue that in general an individual is much easier to listen to than a full group because a group in many ways is just more narrow minded in general. And MAN is that just swatting us in the face as THOUSANDS scream at a 16 year old kid that left so THEY COULD REST IN HIS HOME, are angry his classmates have brought him home. Heck, they don’t even get THAT much. To them, Izuku is a Nomu that could be morphed by AFO before their eyes, or AFO is literally on his tail and can appear ANY SECOND. Which is…you know true and Izuku literally screamed that all last episode and WASN’T EVEN CONVINCED OTHERWISE OR GIVEN THE PEACE OF MIND NOT TO CONCERN. And everyone that the public listened to makes it sound like THEY have more burdens…and are prepared to mob. Scaring Izuku SO MUCH as his fears for these people are realized and in the manga, his danger sense is going off. (MORE VICTIM BLAMING AND THIS IS THE WORST CASE YET) Best Jeanist says he has nothing to show, and literally ANNOUNCES TO THE MOB DEKU IS BAIT. Best Jeanist why you gotta disrespect my boy? And Nezu from what I can tell, FAILED IN EVERY SENSE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE OVER A HUNDRED TIMES OVER and combined with Endeavor keeping clear and other heroes being unable to answer for such situations it’s just an unending mess. And before I talk about what Uraraka does to answer…LITERALLY EVERYTHING. I HAVE to talk about Principal Nezu. I’ve been VERY vocal on how much I have thought of him as a villain and how he’s the most likely traitor. MY GOODNESS did this mouse man just keep reinforcing that from nearly EVERY ANGLE I could think of. He was talking about how he was going to show and convince the public to bring Izuku back to safety, and Endeavor warned him, uh, sure but there’s a MOB that could appear. And Izuku should NEVER see that AGAINST him living in his own freaking home trying to KICK HIM OUT. And Nezu was just SO CERTAIN when we came back to the EXACT THING that Endeavor said let’s keep Izuku from this, and now cutting to THIS with Nezu putting his hands in the air saying “Well, I tried.” I just SHAKE with JUST how much he’s letting every word he’s let leave his face down. This guy has been ringing EVERY red flag in remote proximity in this part and I went from “Haha you’re suspicious,” to “IF THIS MOUSE PERSON ISN’T A VILLAIN THIS IS THE MOST UNDERUTILIZED CHARACTER IN MHA.” So let’s cover why most people write off Nezu as a suspect and why I can’t agree. Mainly it’s his inner monologues. He’s shown genuine concern for the kids with optimistic internal speeches that really put positive light on the situation….but that’s where I tell people actions speak louder than words. In season 3 when the dorms get introduced, and the other right here. In the dorms speech he is talking about how people need to find ease with our care, so let’s implement this system so people can see what we’re made of. Cute in practice, but when you ask the right question it goes from cute, to REALLY weird. You’re telling me your plan to restore faith in the parents of the kids is to HAVE THE KIDS MOVE OUT?! That’s not a destress, that’s a MAXIMUM stress for parents! If I were a parent, if the school kept being attacked, the LAST thing I’d jump to is that I want my kids there MORE where I can’t see them. And the approach and I kid you not is, agree to the dorms, or change schools…as the BEST HERO SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY. And it PERFECTLY feeds into the failures of people “relaxing in their care” with how the people act THIS episode. And that’s just what people use to discard their suspicions! He’s got MANY marks against him. I won’t address them all, but I will a few. 1. The press conference. So you recall when Best Jeanist, Hawks, and Endeavor address their controversies from the war and prior? Nezu decided THAT was a good time to announce to the country where the parents of the UA kids would be staying. You know, VERY TARGETABLE people. The villains are well aware these people are here and where Izuku would come for shelter as a result if he needed it. What kind of plan is THAT?! Even Endeavor shows unease if Izuku would be allowed to rest as a result. (His fears were warranted because of this episode.) 2. The UA Barrier. Don’t get me wrong, it looks super fortified, and with the really cool underground labyrinth faction that could well provide good protection….if we WEREN’T FIGHTING 2 DEVILS. The exception to every impossible or immovable wall that can keep ANYTHING out is AFO or his top minions. But even the KIDS pick up quickly that while Nezu brags about Tartarus level security, we JUST watched it fail 1st hand less than 10 episodes ago. And with this all being on his dime, if there’s a failure, they are fish in a barrel. And with this being so ludicrously complex, one has to ask, are the evacs going to be able to USE such an escape route? There’s a LOT there and I just don’t see what contingencies there are unless all their robots are armed with quirk deleters. 3. Nezu’s contributions to society. Endeavor totes around how well known Nezu’s accomplishments are for everything, but when you hear Nezu has focused on quirk morality…would you say we’ve seen a solid track record in the show? I don’t see it. Heck if you ask me, quirk morality has been in the toilet the whole show. Even if they have therapists or something I DEFINITELY haven’t seen any. (And BOY do the poor kids need one badly. All of them) So why are they bragging about it? 4. OFA inner circle. Ok this is a big one. EVERY single person in All-Might’s inner circle has been shown to make many contributions to the efforts of OFA. Detective Tsukauchi, Dave Shields (even though he doesn’t know what OFA is he DOES know about All-Might’s health), Nighteye, Recovery Girl, and Gran Torino we can look at every one of these characters and say these people have done this, this, and this to further All-Might and/or his successor. They are very clear obvious situations you can point to. For Nezu? Yeah oops the guy hasn’t so much as SPOKEN to Izuku, and the only thing he’s done is give All-Might a teaching job…with zero further elaborations of helping All-Might be better at it. The fact All-Might used a “Teaching for dummies” book in season 3 is a testament how little he’s been instructed to do this job. These are JUST this season, and a dabble of long term. This guy is the main investigator of the UA traitor, and he’s a stated human hater with a professionalism in chain reactions as the SMARTEST PERSON IN THE SHOW. Which you DON’T have to look far what he may be using them for. We have a motive, methods, and a VERY ongoing threat if he is caught. Just because he’s obvious doesn’t mean he’s a bad choice. I’m TERRIFIED of this guy. So yes. This is not a point I can relinquish my suspicion of Nezu…and yes, this is me going a LONG WAY to talk about this character for the express purpose of what is to come in a few episodes.

I don't think this season is my anywhere near my favorite, and I'll tell you why. Just bear with me. Everyone seems to have a singular notion that the action-packed, story-heavy moments are superior to the slower, more controlled school portions of the series. I'm of the opposite mind. I LOVE the school parts because the student characters are all SO well-written and likable, both individually (mostly) and in the different dynamics and relationships, that I would legitimately watch a version of this show where it's JUST school stuff. It's part of the reason I adore the light novels so much, as they flesh out a lot of the slice-of-life segments the show and manga brushed over (studying for midterms, enjoying the Culture Festival, spending New Year's with family, etc). There's just a charm to watching these kids live their lives in comfort, and by this season, that charm kinda . . . dies. I'm not saying I wish things were written differently or that I don't also enjoy the fights in this series as much as the titular "Academia" parts, but this second half of season six just feels like a bit of a downer to me. I get that's intentional, but I still prefer most of the series over it.

@@HaydrogenBomb well let me tell you you are far from alone on that preference. I know MANY that prefer the slow school stuff over the action packed including my brothers. I prefer season 6 more for the rogue arc being personal to my experiences if anything and it being SUCH A PAYOFF to getting Izuku Midoriya all the love he actually deserves when most will actively ignore his role and contribution out off a preference elsewhere even though he’s the main character. (And sadly that continues after this arc) The war has its moments but yeah I’m with you. I wish there was more moments for the kids in it. But overall it has the most consistent set of amazing episodes. Season 7 has INCREDIBLE moments. But it has some of the worst pacing. There were absolutely some different decisions I would make in this show. Maybe have Redestro come back, reorganize some fights, bring other characters to the forefront. But I still love this show front to back for getting my preferences so well.

A hero doesn’t need to be a perfect protector to be a hero…

Ok this had to be its own thing from the episode analysis. Uraraka’s speech and significance despite her being in the background is ALWAYS here. There are ZERO people more geared for helping Izuku exactly how he needs it than her. After being relatively quiet this entire chase, she finally gets her opportunity. She doesn’t even need to say she loves him. She doesn’t need to pull the pin on OFA to show his importance, we’ve seen 1st hand how that works when the only importance shown to others is he has OFA. Izuku Midoriya kinda disappears as a factor. And even the other 18 classmates AND pros just let her do her thing. Some fine they don’t do more, others not so much. Iida, Bakugo, Todoroki, the LEAST you can do is be a human wall or check on him periodically with an ANGRY MOB there. As I mentioned, she fits EVERY criteria for breaking Izuku out of exhausted empathy/being a damaged empath. (Take your pick on the term. There’s several) And it’s been foreshadowed for a LONG time just how much he trusts her and how much she’s been there for him. More so than not just every classmate, but also EVERY character. More than his dad All-Might, more than his mom, more than ANY adult, this girl has NEVER turned her back on him. Every season, every arc, she was right there for him. Catching him when he fell on day 1 at UA, breaking him free of his nickname he got from his bully, always being on his team and supporting him every step of the way. She calls him after the Stain incident no hesitation to make sure he’s safe, and she NEVER changed her respect no matter how powerful he’s become or how much importance about him is revealed. She was super uncomfortable at the mall, but all that vanished THE MOMENT she realized he was in trouble despite all her confusion of how she should feel at the time. Some that people don’t talk about because it’s painted as jealousy is her trying to keep Mei Hatsume off him when he’s so uncomfortable and not stuffing him into unstable experiments right after Muscular round 1, which is Izuku’s body at its most fragile, and honestly her being the only one in his corner when “Camie” assaults him in honestly more ways than one in the provisional exam. Both are JUST jealousy scenes to people when it IS still important she’s there for him. (Hatsume and “Camie” are 100% unhinged in their season 3 scenes) Hugging him through the Blackwhip going haywire and she REALLY wanted to sit by him as she waited for him to wake up from his coma. The biggest signals are that Izuku actually doesn’t hesitate to listen to her. Even under the HIGHEST pressures he’s been under. Specifically at the camp attack and the Bakugo rescue mission. NO ONE could stop Izuku’s nonstop brain for helping people. Except once again, Uraraka. At the camp attack Izuku tried to do EVERYTHING even after Muscular round 1. But she got him to stop to make him splints before letting him keep going. Under THAT kind of pressure AND when they were chasing Mr Compress in the forest is a FEAT to stop him AND to not disclude him, but STILL wants him to save lives because she knows there’s nothing he wants more. And when trying to save Bakugo with his GREATEST passion from the villains, he paused when he heard Uraraka was against the idea. (I don’t agree how she was used in that section of the story, but I’m happy it keeps relevance.) This unstoppable force of a kid stops EVERYTIME Uraraka requests it. And the fact he stopped for her in the face of the mob as he tried to leave AGAIN, hoo boy. And what is the approach to her speech? Not about her, not about his hero role, not about his power, not about ANYTHING but Izuku Midoriya. This is a scared kid in more danger than ANYONE who can’t sleep, eat, or have any peace of mind helping YOU. Making COUNTLESS sacrifices. He has MESSED HIMSELF UP probably PERMANENTLY helping you. And you are trying to kick him out of the only homes he has ever had, THE only place he’s been accepted, when we are all WELL aware he won’t stop being a hero because that is just who he is. No power is needed for him to be like this. His power doesn’t make him special, HE HIMSELF is the special one. And he deserves more than ANYONE gives. And this conclusion she comes to isn’t some giant obsession, but built from every personal conclusion she’s made. She has worked past her muddled thoughts about obsession that were NEVER true and she has made MANY pacts of how she wants to be a hero through the whole show, and they ALWAYS make her see Izuku more. She wants to be a rescue hero and wants her family to live easier, and then the class becomes a family with Izuku as one of if not the she holds in HIGHEST regard. She vows to save people and continues to see him in need, and she comes to the conclusion MANY heroes are hurting and need to be saved. Izuku has become her family, and he’s in INCREDIBLE amounts of pain. She doesn’t make these decisions BECAUSE of him, she will decide from other things she sees like her parents, trying to save Sir Nighteye, coming across DOZENS of heroes in pain and all they have is an audience supporting them as they are getting smashed up. I’ve called her HSP, but she’s actually starting to show empathic traits right here which is a step up. (The signal is her thinking of Toga, who I think is safe to say she’s officially connected to as Izuku connects to EVERYONE.) Toga made everything about Uraraka’s journey muddled sure but it all came full circle for even stronger resolve. She has a THOUSAND times the power Bakugo had for the apology which honestly only FURTHER burdened Izuku if anything as 100% necessary as it was. But taking the approach she does FINALLY ease this crowd that’s been so targeted for them to be uneasy in this EXACT way. I equate the concern to political. (Won’t go deep I promise.) In politics, people think there are always simple solutions to THE MOST complicated issues. And there are NOT. You won’t solve your issues by focusing on one facet and it’s NOT going to fit on a billboard. And doing that may make a bunch of other facets much worse. Izuku leaving is NOT a solution no matter how dangerous this place is while he is here. If he’s not functional, and can’t be seen, he can’t help. If he’s not seen, he is at his most vulnerable. And quite frankly, we are in DESPERATE need of his help. Finally being seen for the 1st time in this show as Izuku Midoriya FINALLY lets this poor kid cry. That’s not any of his burdens, that’s just Izuku. She found him in his giant mess of a head. He no longer wants to be forgotten and disappear from his friend’s lives. Like All-Might in season 1, he says you CAN be a hero. Uraraka here says you can be you. Just you. You’re a hero, but you’re still you. And now that he’s been unburied from the bricks of COUNTLESS people he carries, he could not look anymore like himself again. He’s rallying, he’s standing up to the crowd and promising his undying devotion to help WITHOUT HESITATION. THAT is Izuku Midoriya. And I love that the guy in the crowd to make the conclusion of the humanity in these heroes is none other than the FIRST BACKGROUND CHARACTER in season 1 episode 1. Star head. He recognizes this is not a show and never has been a show. None of these heroes are. The mistaking it for a performance is why so many heroes left when they realized it wasn’t. And what remains are the ones that always knew and never were going to make this mistake. No matter how screwed up their regular lives are. At the end of the day, Izuku Midoriya is a kid. And shutting him out like this can’t be an answer ANYONE can justify. This speech is everything. I have ZERO doubts that Uraraka and Izuku are head over heels in love with each other, and likely have been for a while. But this completely sealed it. This is my favorite singular moment in the show.

The thing that I find the most disturbing about 8:20 - 8:39 is that for Izuku, Danger Sense is still in play, so the negative emotions they're exhibiting to him are just ramped up to 100. I can't even imagine the torture he was going through at that point.

She really is starting to annoy me it's like have some damn sympathy for the heroes and especially Deku. The civlians do have a right to be scared but she failed to see how horrible they were being as a result of that fear. Not realizing the heroes are just as scared and them being rejected is only making it harder to do their jobs. The point of this whole thing was to show how people can lose sight of the fact celebrites are people too and can get very unreasonable when that celebrity makes even the slightest mistake.

The entire "dark deku" arc, he never once cries despite it being such a common occurrence for him...until uravity lays it all out and fights for him with pure raw emotion. He kept disregarding himself as a person to fight for others, and it finally boils over with him bawling his eyes out. Also, deku's mom must've aqgone through straight up emotional torture. Last time she saw her son, the greatest hero in the world begged her to let him assist her child in saving everyone. Next time she sees him, the very people hes fighting for would rather throw him to the wolves and let him die than do the bare minimum to help
