Hi Mack and Damer, thank you for all your videos I absolutely love them (I wish you would come to the UK as I would love to find you at a race!) I was wondering how Damer found these after using them for longer runs? I am using the salomon speedcross 4s which provide a lot of grip and protection from rocks which is great, but they are so heavy and retain water so I am considering these as an alternative. Do you find that these are more of a light weight shoe? Thank you both! I am re-watching all your videos in lockdown to keep me sane whilst waiting for the ocr season to re-start!

Thank you my friend! We'd love to get over to the UK and do a race or two. Can't wait to get out of this lockdown period. Hopefully you are safe and doing well. These shoe unfortunately didn't provide enough of a cushion underfoot to prevent feeling almost every tiny rock I ran on. There was no rock plate in them. Maybe they would be better suited to less technical terrain, but where we run is full of roots and rocks, and uneven trails. They just didn't give me the support I was looking for. Right now my favorite shoes are Inov-8 Roclite 315 - amzn.to/2v3rFcV

Heel to toe drop on these bad boys?

5mm drop. Last season (2021) we ran in Spartan's newer OCR Speed shoe. Very similar to these with a bit more cushion underfoot so I liked them a bit more than these RD Pros. The perfect shoe is like the holy grail though and we are always looking. Reviewing a pair of Inov8 x-talon 260 ultras now.

I wore these with a thicker sock and had some stability issues. I tried a thin sock and tightened up the shoe and i was good to go

Good review, fair and honest. I am bummed they don.t come in my size (14) or I would get a pair. For now I am sticking with my protocol. For shorter races (S Print and Super) will run in my Altra Lone Peak 4.0. For Beast and Ultra Beast I will run in Altra Lone Peak 4.o mid-calf version that you showed here. For the longer distances I tend to do a little bit more power hiking and the boot comes in handy. The new Spartan Shoes are a great improvement, I've seen them at races and they got it right this time. Since you are Social Media Influence rs get them to sell them in bigger sizes. They'll listen to you guys cause you have fun and train hard!!

Right on thank you sir! And right there with you on your shoe choices. I wear the Altras too (only size 12). We will work on Spartan and Craft to make A) bigger sizes and B) some mid cut versions for ankle support.

How was the size? I have a flat wide feet. So do you recommend to have 1 inch bigger?

The sizing was spot on for me. I have average width feet I guess, so I'm not sure on sizing for wider feet. I found them to be perfect length-wise though. Not sure this helps. You could always try one and send try to exchange them if they don't fit. Haven't tried the exchange process so I can't offer any insights there.

well shoe there is built for the sport is apparently only for the small people with small feet... so no big foot size 15 shoes for me

Yup, this is the second complaint about sizing on these shoes (a friend of ours has size 14 and can't get them either). We will raise the issue with Spartan.
