A compact masterpiece of love, spirituality, talent and skill, never to be repeated. God made only one David Cassidy and the gentle yet assertive, humour is sorely missed. Your heart was neglected by your father and it meant your sense of self worth was limited to your talent, which he was envious of. Your true worth is the light that shines out of you, even in the end when illness gain a grip upon your body you couldn’t shake. You were are blessing to you fans, many new fans discovering you through your autobiography. Love to you on the other side

I've always had the sense that David struggled to find himself. I believe David's father was jealous of his fame. I can imagine it would be so painful for a child to realize his father resented him. I think David wanted to be taken seriously as an artist. He is authentically talented but of course fans (myself included) saw him as super cute and sweet Keith Partridge.

Another bit of trivia: The role of "Ted Baxter" on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," was modelled after Jack Cassidy (he was the first choice for the role.) In fact, in an earlier episode, he plays Ted's brother who has a fierce rivalry with Ted.

It is a shame tht he kept the same company/ management after the show. These ppl held him back. The right producer cud of helped him. Someone needed to take him under their wing. He continues to say he's moved on...but in my opinion he couldn't put it away. I mean this beautiful person, inside and out was very unhappy. David Cassidy was a light, he didn't know it. RIP :*)

Yeah, agree. 17 years from Partridge Family to this interview, David still looked great. Three years later he was starting to show some age but still looking good. 24 more years and he was just a shell. There must have been some very rough times for him starting in the 90's.
@manofiske33187 жыл бұрын
"rough times"??? Those 'rough times' are called , "aging". From one's early 40's on it's steadily down-hill . There are very, very few , regardless of lifestyle, who escape the merciless ravages of Father Time. Some may appear to have held up slightly better than others but one's genes are the ultimate determinant of to just what degree any particular individual will suffer the punishment of his/her years spent living on this planet.
@manofiske33186 жыл бұрын
Donny Osmond has been employing hair pieces and full-on wigs for well over 40 years to disguise the havoc wreaked upon his dome by his genetically programmed , thinning crop of scalp hair. Just try to imagine how freaked out you'd be if exposed to the mess under those rugs. In addition, while I am in general agreement regarding this Osmond Brother's seemingly perpetual boyish looks , facially or youthful appearance overall , I must say that it would appear that time has finally caught up to good old Donny. His head and face look , NOW, to be getting bigger and fattier . Rather than the thinned out , haggard, deflated balloon look that eventually plagues the majority of oldsters , he may be destined for the rarer yet equally disturbing looking , 'bubble-head' a la Frank Sinatra et al.

Ive been spending this weekend watcing DCassidy interviews (along with other PF cast members) and This Is Your Life vids, and I find DC consistent and honest in his interviews and consistent with other cast members. Learned so much more about DC and the theater he's been involved in. He's the real deal, honest and in real life real. Saddens me that he's come down with dimension so recently, but he's come out to admit almost immediately. He could have gone on to do more theater for a long long time.
