David you did change the world. You were a good and kind man. You made the world better. You made the world brighter.

Thank you Wendy. What lovely memory. David was great fun. His input regarding horse jumping was interesting. He was gracious in the way he disagreed. Far more knowledgable than the presenters on this subject. I hope the BBC screen some of his concerts this November.

Thank you Wendy. Glad you shared this - what a great experience for you. So jealous. David was always so super about his fans; great passion for horses; and so sweet with the llama. Gosh- he still had it!

A lifelong alcoholic, David Cassidy died of liver failure on November 21st 2017, aged 67. I think it's remarkable he looks so young and healthy here at the age of 61, considering his alcohol abuse. How sad that the most gifted people are often beset by demons that manifest as addiction. I wonder how much real satisfaction his success and fame brought him, that he leaned on the booze so heavily? His father, actor Jack Cassidy's bi-polar disorder and alcoholism undoubtedly cast a shadow over his son, as did his tragic, grisly death in a house fire in 1976. David Cassidy's stepmother and onscreen mother in 'The Partridge Family', Shirley Jones, is still with us aged 86. On the death of her stepson David she said: "Long before he played my son on 'The Partridge Family', he was my stepson in real life. As a little boy his sweet sensitivity and wicked sense of humour were already on display, and I will treasure the years we spent working and growing together. I will also find solace knowing that David is now with his dad". Thanks for sharing this, it must be a very special memory for you, and it's a lovely tribute to one of the biggest pop stars the 20th century produced.

Oh Wendy, that is just beautiful. David was clearly very touched by your appreciation as a teen and then, as an adult, which is so lovely. It brought a tear to my eye! What many treasures and memories you have to keep. I hope you take his appreciation for such loyalty and keep it close.... particularly now this dear and talented guy is gone. Thanks for sharing this.

what a great interview with David i love it! i love how he stood up for horses and his opinion of jump racing, but at the same time tried to keep the peace with a guy he really likes so much. and he said he was going to release a bunch of tickets to people who couldn't get tickets to his show.... such a nice guy. and i especially like where after they talked about the woman "Wendy" who had the memorabilia room of David, and then she was there on the show in the audience! wow i hope she got to give him a hug after that! i teared up and i thought it looked like he was trying not to "get misty". how sweet. btw i see your title says "part one"...is there a "part two"?? :)

Alex Jones said David Cassidy was the worst ever guest ever on the One Show because of the altercation between David and ex-jockey Brough Scott. What's wrong with having your own opinion? David had a right to give his, after all he was in the Horse Breeding business.

hosts don't like it when the guests go off script good for David for standing up for his beliefs

David Cassidy was the was a Horse breeder so he knew what he was talking about. He was just showing his genuine concern for the horses that have to run in the Grand National every year. He pointed out how high the fences are that they have to jump over. He was showing his caring side.

Why the hell did they bring David and that jockey on the show, if they didn't want their honest opinions? David didn't even get to fully express his- the jockey kept interrupting him.

Alex Jones needs to know that David Cassidy was a world wide phenomenon and I am so happy I remembered it all vividly as I was Ten and in love with him ... yes he was a nightmare to interview but he was for one reason or another ( one other interview she slated him about ) fighting a lot of demons with the demon drink ...I have taken a dislike to her ever since ... any fan will back me up on this ... when he died I was totally upset ... and I only have to hear his songs on the radio and I’m in tears God bless you dear David xx

OMG cant believe Alex Jones said David Cassidy was her worst interview. He's a good talker, but always interesting. Alex looks very uncomfortable, perhaps it was her inexperience showing. If she thinks this is a hard interview, don't ever work in public service!

David was a wonderful artist and human being and animal lover. Jumps racing should be banned. It’s basically a battle for survival and it’s the horses who suffer and die to feed human ego and bank balances of gamblers, owners, trainers… and announcers.

After this edition of The One Show Alex Joan's was asked who had been the worse guest that she had ever interviewed on the show? Her answer was about this actual show. And David Cassidy was the answer she gave to the question.

I respect that DC has passionate views about horse, but he wasn’t brought on this show to talk about that. He should have waited until the show was over and then talk to the other guy.
