Great video and excellent bit about the correct sizing method (one finger width between clasp and wrist). It is how I was taught to size my watches as well but I see many insist on skin-tight sizing and depend on on-the-fly microadjustments

Just picked up my 124060 - everything you covered in your review is on the spot. Only thing as a former Pelagos LHD owner is that the top latch of the clasp does mark the last link of the bracelet in the same way as the Sub - it didn’t bother me when I had the Tudor TBH. I was equally lucky to have purchased this through my AD after a 5 month wait - l purchased a Tudor Black Bay Bronze and Speedmaster before so I’m sure a spend history helped. Now that I have the Submariner Non Date, l’m glad to have gone for this over the Sub Date as the 124060 looks so much better balanced. Only problem I have now is I also believe this could serve as a 1 watch collection - beginning to wonder what to do with the other watches. Anyway wear your 124060 in good health sir 👍

Beautiful and iconic diver's watch. I know it's new and I know it's expensive but everything Rolex use and design on their diver's watches just seems to be one step ahead of the pack: the anti-reflective coating, the sapphire crystal, the ceramic bezel and the quality of the stainless steel of the case and bracelet just scream high quality. A State of the Collection with just one watch.. that was a surprise! A ten year service interval for the 3230 is fantastic, but I do wonder how they know that the improved lubricant will extend the service interval by five years… wouldn’t they have to test it for ten years to find out? I love the ideology of one and done- a holy grail. One watch to rule them all. Unfortunately, for us collectors, the challenge is to sustain this ideology and not surrender to temptation once again- when a new model appears. One example could be the new Tudor BB Pro GMT 39. The hobby, as we know, is not an objective one. Indeed, it's a very expensive one and an obsession. Anyone know a cure? Lovely watch BTW!

The best bezel? Of course I like the Omega Liquid Metal. Defined yet still has a subtle sophistication. My favorite clasp is the Tudor Pelegos. That is a true innovation. Set & forget. Over the course of several decades I have owned dozens of fantastic watches. WWII military, 30s art deco, 50s introduction to the civilian tool watches. All sizes from 28mm to 42mm with all the period bracelets and straps. I never cared for cyclops and other imbalances. Symmetry is always refreshing. Congratulations on your new watch. My "one watch" I really miss is my 14xxx Air-King. I wore it so much it acquired a beautiful patina. I have my eye on the San Martin SN006-G. The Patek Phillipe's 565 SC in steel is the only classic Sports Watch I really want.

I own around 6 watches but wear my seiko spb051 most of the time. I really like the 62mas design. I have a rado captain cook, a rado original diver that's built like a tank, an edox hydro sub and an old school tag heuer formula one chronograph ca1212-1. I just can't bear to sell some off , even though I don't wear them often. I quite fancy the tudor pelagos, in black, as I think it's the best diver out there for the money although I do like some of the seiko sla models. I worry that the high end seikos may be hard to get serviced though in the UK ? And that puts me off getting one .

I currently have a modified PD-1644 on rubber strap. I am waiting for a blue Casio Duro to arrive which I will modify. Also I am waiting for a San Martin SN008-G2. So that will be my 3 piece collection. I find 3 pieces is a good size collection as one has some variety to rotate the watches daily. I did try just one watch; my Submariner, and also 2 watches; Submariner and DressKX. But I found that wearing the same 1 or 2 watches daily just isn't enough variety. With 3 to choose from daily its better. Over the years I have had various size collections; gradually scaling down from 12, to 9, to 6, etc. There is definitely a balance between variety, and having too many pieces. I think with 12 pieces that are worn less, the pleasure is divided. With less pieces such as 3, the pleasure is multiplied. Better to own just 3 pieces one really loves wearing, rather than 12 that one doesn't love wearing as much. Regards, #WR4K

Remember I was asking you which watch I should go for the San Martin s n o 1 9 all black or the black dial with the green bezel Kermit. I believe you told me go for the Kermit. Because I want one weekend watch and one classy looking watch. This would be like a work watch and also maybe sometimes on the weekend. So I just wanted to ask you again you think I should go for the black dial with the green bezel or just keep it all black. I kind of like things a little showy. I love the case and bracelet of modern rolexes but not so the ceramic bezel inset which are much shinnier and too reflective than the aluminium insert. It would be nice to have them replaced that made a better Rolex in my opion.

I've got a rado captain cook on a beads or rice bracelet, but I can't get a perfect fit. It's either too tight or too loose. It has no micro adjustment on the clasp which is really annoying me. I've purchased a leather strap from rado which is fine , but it would be nice to wear it on the bracelet more. But it just bugs me and I've ordered a NATO for it now, as I find them really comfy straps

I disagree about having the watch so loose, where it slides back and forth so freely. You were taught very early on incorrectly and that collector gave you an antiquated idea of sizing, especially on modern Rolex divers.That is one of the reasons you get extra wear on the end links, from wearing too loose, try that with a Deepsea and it will drive you mad and abuse your wrist. A watch is not a bracelet, it should fit snug, not tight and not loose, and you shouldn't be able to fling it back and forth in and out of a shirt. Why would they invent a technology to adjust a watch on the fly if the correct way was to have it loose flinging about. Every high end brand has added micro adjustments to their watches so you can have it fit properly throughout different situations. If you want to make it a gansta bracelet like an 80's mafia member that's fine and personal, not correct. There aren't more links on the 12 o'clock size because of the glidelock, all brands do this because the watch usually likes to float to the outside of the wrist, so by having less links on the six o'clock side it has less slack to rotate out plus this centers the clasp because ergonomically there is more distance to cover on the outside 12 side vs the 6 side. What you are explaining is the proper way to adjust a watch that lacks micro adjustment and is an antiquated way of sizing. Furthermore, fit is subjective, it should be clarified that your views are "opinions" and not objective facts on sizing, proof is in the design itself, Rolex has giving you micro adjustment on the fly. It is a horribly bad idea to size a Rolex dive watch all the way out to the last point, this leaves zero adjustment options. You sound like you are educated and knowledgable and throw around terms like correct and perfect....when in reality you are just like most of us and your views are just opinions. Nice video footage though.
