Sooooooo, I realized that it had been a while since I posted a video on here, so I thought I would do a quickie garden tour, but ended up with 75 minutes of footage...and that was just for the front garden.
For such a relatively small area, I can sure talk about it! Luckily for you, I have broken it up into some smaller videos that should be more easily digestible. Enjoy!
I had a few blonde moments during filming and wanted to correct any errors or brain farts that occurred.
The cement boards are called 'backer boards' and can be purchased for ~$15 at Lowe's/Home Depot. Gardener Scott has a recent video out on how he put his raised bed together using the cement boards, if you want to see.
To clarify about the bed that I hope to build with backer boards, I will (probably) be enlarging the existing 5' x 5' bed into a 5' x 10' bed and the boards will be cut into pieces that are 5' long and 1' high. I will probably fill the space with more bee-friendly perennial flowers.
The lavender I grew from seed this year is called 'Torch Blue' and I bought the seed from Baker Creek.
The rose bushes shown in this video were 'Pink Drift' and Stiletto'.
If you saw or heard something in the video and it was unclear what I meant, let me know in the comments and, hopefully, I'll know how to clarify.
Stay tuned for parts 2 & 3...coming soon. Unless I get distracted by another hurricane or a...SQUIRREL!
