October 2024 Coloring Plans are here and could not be any more excited for the Season and to keep some of my "old" coloring books in the rotation and to add new ones in. Thank you for stopping by and hope you will enjoy the time you spend here with me today!

Really love the house-shaped colouring book because, if you wanted to make a lighted house-shaped shadow box for a window display or mantle and enjoy your seasonal colouring there, it'd be simple to make it to those dimensions and use the coloured pages as backdrops with a few simple 3D elements, and you could also photocopy and a page and then use small cut-outs from the same page as elevated pop-out layers with some cardboard behind them to make dimensional shadow box thing work too. I always want my colouring to leave the colouring book and live alongside me in some form, to be appreciated, and if you managed to do with just 12 of the pages in the "house book", you could change a shadowbox decor seasonally with the calendar month.

What a fantastic idea and such a cute way to use the/a coloring book in a way where you can see the pages all the time and not just hiding in your book! Thank you so much for sharing this and opening up a great avenue to opening up so much creativity!

Your comment about flipping what we'd normally do to MAKE pictures INTO Halloween colouring Is something I've found radical success with this year and can't wait to bring into my Halloween decor. There's a decently detailed regular old animal colouring book I've had for a while, where I'd been avoiding a spread of what I'd call "grandma-adjacent" owls. Woodland-cute styled owls get too sweetly repetitive and boring for my taste. In this case, it suddenly occurred to me that they had enough detail that a mostly black-and-white inky and blocky look would give them a high-contrast shadowy look, reminiscent of both horror and a lot of traditional black-and-white tattoo work. Just the eyes stayed shiny and turquoise and my cottage-core goofy woodland owls got suitably sharp, edge and menacing with their calligraphy-like black-and white detail. They are becoming the center of Halloween wreaths soon.

you are rocking it BIG time and what a great way to make a page you may not have colored into one you are now coloring and putting in a very prominent place for the season. I bet it's gorgeous!!!

What a lovely tribute to gorgeous maggie smith, she was a true inspiration to many around the world RIP beautiful lady xx Halloween not very popular here in UK, I am more of a mood colourist than a seasonal one, I have my v first Johanna basford colouring book from many years ago and it is great to look back at where I started! Look forward to seeing your colourings end of October,pencils sharp and colours bright, that should be your tag line!! Xx

May I ask how many years you have been colouring? and what was your first J. Basford book is? How awesome to have this book and a joy too look back on for sure.

@@NixieColoringTime I really don't think they are over the top. I have some from Hollow Moon Art (etsy) and well... let's just say these books are VERY detailed in some very specific situations xD
