Larry, An old pipe fitters trick, start the fitting just one thread then paint the teflon paste on and you eliminate the paste getting inside the tube and gumming up the works. Those compression fittings are called "nut and ferrel tube fittings". Some of these fittings have a washer like ring that allows the ferrel to not turn when you tighten the nut to finger tight plus one and a quarter turns.(1/4 Tube) Guaranteed not to leak. If you tighten them tighter they will cut the tube or deform the coupling surfaces and they will leak, of course the will leak if they are not tight enough.

You make everything look simple and a number of folks who are handy with tools could install a device like this. A great savings to install this device and you can immediately get the weight of a load and save the time and effort to CAT Scale a load. A Great Investment. I can see Boss Man asking you to install these on more of his Trailers and it’s obvious you’re a very competent mechanic and a highly skilled driver. Thanks!

@danachappell38615 жыл бұрын
What a lot of piddling you had to do to get that scale on. I know it won't hold up in court, but it does give you a good idea of how much you have on the trailer, so you can adjust things, or leave them alone. It is peace of mind for you guys, and I like that. Have a great trip to the yard. lol Laterz!!! 🐸🐸🐔🐔🤭🤭🐸🐸

I think John has that other trailer with this system on that you're talking about. He's also having issues with it and I think it needs calibrated because with a load he's got on it right now it seems to be about a thousand pounds off. Either that or he needs to have a long talk with you and isn't using it correctly.

It helps to make sire you are not overweight and to keep the load balance on all axles, you have to calibrate it about every six months , it gives u peace of mind, u can see what the weigh is before having to drive 40 or more miles to a cat scale and then to drive back cause they over load you, getting me one. For my truck and my trailer

Larry, great video. I remember wondering what those levers at the back of the trailer were for. never got around to asking another driver or shop guy. Now i know. With these levers do you still pull your trl air. Guys at my company were telling me that I should never pull my trl break cause the trailer settles and makes life hell for the forklift guys. However I seem to remember during my training (with another company) that I should always set my trl brakes. Am I losing my mind ?
