October 7 anniversary: Jewish and Muslim people in the UK reflect on what's changed this year

Thousands of miles from Israel and Gaza, people from both Jewish and Muslim communities in Britain have felt the impact of the horrors of October 7 and the conflict that followed.
A year ago, the Hamas attacks on Israel that day led to 1,200 people being killed, the biggest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust.
The attacks which followed by Israel on Gaza over the last 12 months have led to more than 40,000 people being killed.
Both antisemitic and Islamophobic hate crime incidents have soared. For British Jews, 2023 was the worst year for UK antisemitism since records began 40 years ago, according to the Community Security Trust, and for Muslims the highest in 14 years according to charity Tell Mama - and that's only counting the crimes actually reported.

I have no affiliation with either of them, but I do have my judgment. One community has provided us with many inventions and prosperity, while the other consists of a whole bunch of third world countries. People should know where they came from. Rome wasn’t built in a day. If you or your family have no experience building a first world country, it’s better to sit back, learn how it’s done, and bring that knowledge back to your ancestral country for a better world. All the Arabs who sit comfortably, thanks to the efforts of first world citizens’ ancestors, should go live with the Palestinians and demonstrate how to educate the children and bring about real change. Instead of soaking up millions of our tax dollars to keep meaningless marches safe and clean up after them, they could focus on real progress. 80% tax on all religions, all who have true faith will agree. Tax the religious. People of true faith do not fear poverty as it is Gods reward they seek. We all understand that poverty is part of the struggle of true faith. Remove wealth from religion. It will not impact anyone genuine in their faith, and anyone saying it will clearly have no faith in God. This will end all religious conflict in the UK immediately and without violence. This report was smart, I saw it on the tv earlier, i believe its aim seeked to continue the Islamophobic rhetoric that ITV and all British media know is easily bought when swaying support for ‘Israel’ highlighting that Muslims were voting strategically, never once mentioning that Jews are 8 times over represented in Parliament, a fact never brought up and makes them the most over represented group in this country a figure much higher then any Muslim and to put it into further perspective - the black population is some many tens if not hundreds of times larger in the UK then the Jewish yet they are about equally 8 times under represented. This is clear in the last segment of this ‘report’ where both men were interviewed almost separately at the end starting with sympathy for the antisemitism for the Jew and then with the Muslim immediately talking about their political presence knowing the main audience of this report will digest that as a threat, please also bear in mind this 41,000 dead figure is nearer to 200,000 which I believe most western analysts are aware of.
