I am also interested in the process of propagating roses with short cuttings and layering from a rose bush. What advice can you give to rose lovers? Thank you, you are an amazingly positive person.

Thank you, you provide very useful information for amateur gardeners like me. Please tell me how to use superphosphate to feed roses and other plants in the garden. Can I use superphosphate in the fall or is it better to water the plants with a solution of water and superphosphate in early spring?

@@JuliaLeese thank you for your question however it’s not something I’m going to be able to help you with. I’m afraid I don’t use any chemicals whatsoever in my garden and rely exclusively on the improvement and condition of my soil using soil conditioners mulches and like to feed my roses in the ground, the only product you hear me endorsing apart from organic mulches seafood, which is a seaweed feed from a company called envii

Have you done any other videos on overwintering flowers? I sowed some violets, cornflowers and pinks two months ago. I'm going to experiment planting out the biggest ones and overwintering the other half in my conservatory. I guess it's the same basic principle as sweet peas, open to advice.

Hi Ben, great video as always. Quick question please - is your compost mix moistened before putting into the toilet rolls? I always do mine Sweet Peas in root-trainers giving a one off watering at the beginning. I want to try the toilet roll method but wondered about the watering aspect since they are cardboard. What say you?🤔....Many thanks - Tina (Dublin ☘️)

@the_gardenerben Sorry Ben, just so I understand, once you put the SP seed into the toilet roll you THEN water, is that what you are saying? Don't they just go soggy then? Sorry if this sounds stupid 🤦♀️
