Cool stuff! Got my first frost a week ago here in New hampshire but I'm still getting broccoli, spinach and Lettuce growing pretty well. Also got some beets and carrots that will hopefully survive into the holiday season. It's always a fun challenge to see how far into the season you can harvest fresh food.

Howdy, beautiful Prairie Plantgirl and oh so cute Buster!👋 Wow, the garden clean-up looks good.👍 Yummy looking broccoli and cauliflower.😋 My brassicas are starting to take off...we are in the low 90s for highs and 60s at night. I still have loads of blooms for the pollinators. The bumblebees are mad about the sunflowers and cosmos.🐝🦋🐞 My fall tomatoes are finally starting to ripen.💃🏽 I've decided to do some indoor veggie and fruit gardening this winter: tomatoes, leafy greens, green beans, radishes, and ground cherries.👩🏾🌾 I hope you get more yumminess from your garden in the next month or so. Thanks for the tips!💕

We have 26*F this morning and they are saying temps will go back up into November. Last year the temps increased from Halloween to Christmas. Hopefully rain tonight however little we will take it. Your garden looks so nice and tidy! I have a bit more to do. Waiting for cauliflower and it might make it-still covering and uncovering with plastic. Your purple one looked great! I wish we had an easier way to cover the beds. I have different size beds and paths we found too narrow with all the things we use to hold covers down. Thinking of redesigning so all the same size and an easy hoop system that can be moved. It appears our weather is quite similar.

Having an easy way to cover plants makes extending the season much more convenient for sure. I hope you get some good moisture and can keep that cauliflower going.

@@PrairiePlantgirl we both tripped on stuff in pathways, so something has to change. I need to really sit down and figure how much we actually need to grow, but I always plant way more in case of failures. We will be on a big hunt for voles all winter as I’m sure they did some damage. We never had them ever and they appeared last winter. Those things can really do damage.

Voles are not fun. Clean up as much debris and piles as possible. I find traps set by runs helpful. They are active all winter.

Broccoli looks great. Never had much luck growing Broccoli in fall, head wouldn't form not sure why. I use plastic and it doesn't work great since polyethylene best plastic for conducting heat, need to get on board and try polypropylene cloth.

Thank you for the update on the last of your harvests. I think you are sending us some really cold weather. Lows of 24 fahrenheit next week Monday and Tuesday. Like yourself we have gotten spoiled with the nice warmer weather. I hope your plants do well as we battle to squeeze a little more out of the growing season 😊

After the unseasonably warm start to autumn, this cool weather is feeling quite winter-y. We’ve even had a few snowflakes in the air. Hopefully the white stuff avoids you for a while yet.

No frost yet in Halifax! That’s not unusual. I harvested turnips and carrots today to make a slaw as a side dish. There are still turnips, carrots, and parsnips in the ground. I’m going to harvest some greens to mix with other vegetables to make a stock. I have some healthy kale I might freeze to add to winter soups. Yesterday I made a cod dish with potatoes, garlic, and tomatoes from the garden, sweet pepper and capers from the store. The San Marzano tomatoes came from one of several bags in my freezer. The skins easily slipped off as they thawed. My wife and I really enjoyed this dish, as cod is hard to come by.

That cod dish sounds great! It’s nice that you were able to add so much of your own produce too!

I'm in Saskatchewan also but in the southeast zone 4a. I just pulled my potatoes, carrots and beats on friday. Only have onions left to pull and I'll be pulling them tomorrow. Got most of my garden cleaned up now and will be throwing some compost down tomorrow and calling it a season. My garden got hailed out at the beginning of the season but everything came back and we had a good harvest. Just found your channel and im looking forward to your new vlogs coming up, in the mean time i'm going to binge watch your past vlogs. Great channel keep up the good work!

Welcome to the channel! I always love to hear from my fellow Saskatchewan gardeners. Hail is always hard on the garden, but as your harvest shows, easier to come back from early in the season.

lovely heads of broccoli and cauliflower! Here in Ontario, I just harvested eggplant! I cannot complain, haha. I have gotten some good heads of cabbage, and small heads of broccoli, but my cauliflower heads are nowhere to be seen lol. Been 3 months! Though I think the 2 beds they are in have some nutrition issues, the cabbages are small there as well. Will need to amend quite a bit.

Carrots are just.. I dunno, you still have them growing? What a pain it is to decide what to do. I've consulted around ten billion youtube gardeners and they all say different things. My go-to farming god Ryan does stuff that never works in the area I live, but then again, people that live in my area claim success with the identical process. Anyway, enjoy the last of the cole-crops and may you be littered with kids come Hallow'Thursday evening, wooooooooh!

I don’t know how much the carrots are growing vs storing in the ground, but they are in the garden.
