It is wonderful that you and Ali are finding your own style not only with the clothes you wear, also for your lifestyle. In several years people who have focused on trends instead of classic style will regret trends instead of personal style. Trends are like condiments, to enhance not dictate. You are right quality and classics are definitely the direction to go.

Sweet Lydia 🫶🏽 citric acid is not used for whitening fabrics, but rather as a fabric softener at the end of the wash because it neutralizes the alkalinity caused by the detergent. To help whiten white fabrics, you should use two tablespoons of sodium percarbonate and select a long wash cycle at 40°C (Celsius)... I hope my English is understandable. Anyway, this is what we have been doing for generations in my home. A hug from Milan. ❤

To keep your whites bright use Mrs. Stewart’s bluing agent . You have to read the directions carefully but the blue brightens whites by contrasting the yellow that whites get with age . There a person on KZbin that teaches people how to clean anything , he explains how to use bluing agent , his name is Rajiv Surendra . I can tell Alli would appreciate this persons advice too ! First of all, I love your videos Lydia! You have helped me so much to elevate my wardrobe, from brands you share, ways to style something and most importantly being reassured that you should wear whatever makes you feel best. When you mentioned your thoughts on dressing up and how we mostly appreciate that on older couples (23:25), you put into words what I thought at the ballet yesterday evening. While waiting in line for the bathroom I marveled at the looks and handbags from older ladies and wondered what their pieces probably already had seen in their lives. And whenever someone my age slipped by the image cracked. I truly wonder if that also has something to do with fabrics and just the general decline of quality in garments and in this regard the way Polyester etc. picks up light so differently than natural fibers like silk, wool etc. It seemed like there were worlds (better: ages) between the styles of the older generation and mine. In this way your philosophy on choosing pieces that will age well and at the same time are worth their money in the long run, has really helped me to be mindful with my resources - that's why I bought the silk scarf from H&M you showed a couple of months ago and I love it! So, thank you, I really appreciate your work

Tinkerbell's Everyday Cleaner and Laundry Soap Powder - my homemade recipe. Process it all in stages in a food processor you use just for laundry soap powder. Use 1 tbsp per load, 2-3 for heavily soiled. Put the powder in the basket of the washer. Safe for all washers. Great for all clothing (baby), linens, delicates, and dog bedding! 4 oz bar of Dr Bronner’s soap or homemade soap bar, grated 1 cup baking soda 1 cup oxygen cleaner - the safest one is Dollar General’s True Living 1 cup washing soda 1/3 cup Epsom salts 3 tbsp sea salt To make Everyday Cleaner put 4 tbsp hot water in a pint spray bottle and add 2 tsps of this laundry soap powder, shake to combine, add cool water. It's an awesome cleaner for indoor and outdoors! Works excellent on vinyl siding.
