Before 1917, there WAS Communism in France, albeit for only two months. The Paris Commune ruled France after Napoleon III was deposed in 1870, almost fifty years before the October Revolution.

@mikeor- Жыл бұрын
@@Luckar7 After World War II, the Commune lost a lot of its power, as France became a member of NATO. The Paris Commune resurged in the 1970's, when France's relationship with NATO began to grow strained, especially after French Indochina (Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam) fell to Communism. In the 1980's, the Commune resurged again because President Francois Mitterrand did not feel like keeping the extremists in check. Without Mitterand, the Paris Commune has slowly become less and less relevant, and Macron's support of Ukrainian refugees can be seen as a precursor to the final nail in the coffin for the Paris Commune. However, as long as he does not actively go after them, like Adolphe Theirs did, the Paris Commune will continue to exist.
@mikeor- Жыл бұрын
@@Luckar7 In France, there are six political parties as opposed to the two in the United States. The party currently in power, which Macron comes from, is called La Republique en Marche (LREM), and it is a party that believes France should increase government spending for projects that actually matter, such as sustaining Ukrainian Refugees and rebuilding the roof of Notre Dame. The five other parties are divided between supporting leftists or rightists, but the Commune is more than simply a political movement. It is not a political party, but rather an organization that influences the policies of France. The French call such organizations: "Cadeaux de l'enfer," and my response to that denomination would be a quick and resounding: "Oui." I would love to hear what you think about the Commune and its influence in France. All I'm saying is that the political parties will not allow Communism in France, but they both know they cannot exist without French Socialism.

Quelle belle chanson.

There were two incarnations of the Paris Commune. The first Paris Commune was the one that existed during the First French Revolution and were the ones who voted to execute Louis XVI in 1793. This first commune was disbanded in 1799, when Napoleon came to power. The Second Paris Commune, made up of workers and French Socialists was formed during the Third French Revolution in 1848. Unlike its predecessor, it rose to power in 1870, creating the Communist government ever in France. When the French army took Paris back two months after the Commune replaced Napoleon III, the Commune continued to survive, and was emboldened by the October Revolution, as this song indicates. They still exist to this day, more than thirty years after the fall of the Soviet Union. Even though they may not have as much power as they did in 1870, due to the reforms begun by Charles de Gaulle and Georges Pompidou, both of whom ended the partisanship between the political parties when creating the current Fifth French Republic, the Paris Commune still exists, and it still follows the principles of Marx, Engels, and, to a lesser extent, those of Lenin.

@@LotarWc2 the war, what hell, as a French I am not really concerned but I sympathize with your situation. being threatened by the geopolitical whim of a few elites is hardly reassuring I suppose. but this war will probably not take place in my opinion. @dorikkugure12703 жыл бұрын
And, are you russian ?
@LotarWc23 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm Russian. If we talking about Nato being economically dependent - we ain't China. Our bourgeois have investments in European and/or American business, have property there and have relatives on the other side of the border. But we also have people who want to leave under socialism, people who will not take any kind of state beyond the Russian state, and small bourgeois that doesn't have connections big ones have, faith fanatics "we're Russians - God with us" and so on. War can be instigated to "clean" Russia from wrong people, and separate it into small states under the protection of one or another country. As the white movement had shown in 1917, bourgeois will rule over a small plot of land like a medieval lord under the protection of a different country. Am I not believing in the World socialist revolution? No, I still have hope in most of the countries. But seeing how some Americans interpret communism, seeing how some of them completely dispute class struggle and turn it into racial separation. I have no faith in the US turning into a communist country without proper education.
