edit: masterly travelers is not 100% consistent, since h'aanit has patience. If it happens to go off, hikari will die and this strategy won't work. There's a variation detailed in this comment that will win even if she gets a bonus turn at every single opportunity. Gear and Support Skills (if weapon, equipment, or support skill slots are left empty, they aren't important to the strategy): Hikari (Armsmaster) - A Step Ahead, Summon Strength, Eagle Eye, Deal More Damage Nuts: Enough fortifying nuts to hit 999 p.atk with giant's club, enough critical nuts to hit ~500 critical (more is nice too) Weapons: Battle-Tested Blade, Lionheart's Axe, Giant's Club Equipment: Bodyguard's Vantage, Art of Disguise, Butler's Tailcoat, Finisher's Claws, Alpione's Amulet Other: Sentencing Gavel and Unfailing Speed as learned skills, pre-damage to 1 HP (lose a challenge, just make sure to refill latent power after) Castti (Merchant) - A Step Ahead, Boost Start Partitio (Cleric) - A Step Ahead Throne (Cleric) - A Step Ahead NOTE: Your party order must have hikari at the top and castti second. This is to control the order of the aelfric's blessing turns (since they occur from bottom to top). Turn 1 (A Step Ahead): Hikari: 1 BP Hienka (for majestic this needs to target Alfyn, for masterly the target doesn't matter) Castti: 2 BP Concoct - Pomegranate Leaf x2, Strengthening Serum, Diffusing Serum Partitio: Aelfric's Blessing on himself (use latent power to do this if you need to) Throne: Aelfric's Blessing on Castti (use latent power and a reinforcing jam to do this if you need to) Turn 1, bonus turns (listed in the order they occur): Partitio: 3 BP Hired Help - Beastlings (use latent power to do this if you need to) Castti: 3 BP Concoct - Pomegranate Leaf x2, Whimsical Leaf, Strengthening Serum, Diffusing Serum - moves everyone except hikari to the front of the turn order Hikari: 2 BP Lionheart's Axe: On the Hunt on Olberic (Majestic) or 2 BP Sentencing Gavel (Masterly) Turn 2: Hikari: 3 BP Sentencing Gavel, "kills" all 4 First Merchant to act: 2 BP Hired Help - Beastlings Second Merchant to act: 2 BP Hired Help - Ruffians - using ruffians after breaking is only important in the majestic fight, since it allows you to cancel out tressa's "Break Insurance" skill Throne: Aelfric's Blessing on Hikari Turn 2, bonus turns (listed in the order they occur): Partitio: 3 BP Hired Help - Beastlings Castti: 3 BP Concoct - Pomegranate Leaf x2, Whimsical Leaf, Strengthening Serum, Diffusing Serum - moves everyone except hikari to the front of the turn order Hikari: 3 BP Unfailing Speed (Majestic) or 3 BP Sentencing Gavel (Masterly) Turn 3: Hikari: 3 BP Sentencing Gavel, kills all 4 First Merchant to act: 3 BP Hired Help - Beastlings Second Merchant to act: 3 BP Hired Help - Ruffians - using ruffians after breaking is only important in the majestic fight, since it allows you to cancel out tressa's "Break Insurance" skill Throne: Forbidden Elixir on Hikari (for masterly, use latent power and also use a decaying dragon's essence on primrose) 100% Consistent Masterly Travelers Strat (not shown in video) - only actions that differ from the normal strat will be written here, the rest are the same NOTE: Hikari needs to be at full HP, not 1 hp This variation only gives one opportunity for h'aanit to get patience (on turn 1, since she's now broken on turn 2), and she can't kill hikari any more If you want to see a video of this strat in action, watch here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zna6cpiulsxoY8U Turn 1, bonus turns: Hikari: Forbidden Elixir on himself (or any other way to get him down to 1hp, e.g. boost from beyond + hang tough) Turn 2: Partitio: 3 BP Hired Help - Beastlings (need 3 BP to break now, and partitio must be the one to do it) Castti: Hired Help - Ruffians Turn 2, bonus turns: Partitio: 2 BP Hired Help - Veterans (kills therion and h'aanit, who are the only 2 left) Hikari: 2 BP Sentencing Gavel (don't use 3) Turn 3: Both merchants: 3 BP Hired Help - Beastlings Throne: Latent Power - decaying dragon's essence on primrose and ancient cursed talisman

Aelfric's blessing (ot2) imo is worse than aelfric's auspices (ot1), if you are only putting it on one character. As soon as you put blessing on more than one character it becomes a LOT stronger than auspices. Add on the fact that it's easier to spam divine skills in OT2 and the fact that the bonus turns follow a consistent order (which I abused the hell out of for this strategy), and you have a truly broken skill.

It seems you're playing on Steam, as I haven't been able to follow your guide thoroughly on Switch, as the enemy party will always attack first when they are killed for the first time. How do you manage to not let them attack after they get up? All party members seem to attack me after they are killed once. I did read your guide, and even though my chars are 94-99, I haven't been able to beat the second encounter (I managed to beat the first one on my own without any guides). Any help?
@Chewythebigblackdog7 ай бұрын
It's not version dependant btw, the reason I'm able to attack first is due to 2 things: 1. I have bonus turns from aelfric's blessing, which allow me to always be able to take multiple actions before they can act (note: ideally you actually want to kill them early in the turn since once they revive, they need to wait a turn before acting, so you can take even more actions to prepare) 2. I use whimsical leaf from castti to move my party ahead in the turn order (something like windy refrain would also work for this), then I use hired help beastlings to break them before they can take an action Note that if it's h'aanit specifically that takes a turn immediately, that's because she has a random chance to get a bonus turn (if this happens, it goes before your bonus turns as well), there's a variant of the strat in the comments that ensures that even if this does happen it won't mess things up.
@nicolasflamelflamel7 ай бұрын
Thanks for your reply. I managed to beat the second encounter, but not without receiving damage. Hikari died once. No matter what I do, Ha'anit always manages to cast Provoke All after dieing for the first time. I was using Castii's Whimsical Leaf all the time, and her Merchant 3/4BP Beastling ability, as well as Partitio's, on top of using 3/4 BP Ruffians/Veteran Soldiers, and still, there is no way the enemies are not casting their skills after dieing. Do you know why this happens? Fortunely, the one who did was Thereon, and his Steal ability doesn't damage anybody. I haven't watched carefully your other video about Ha'anit's Patience (I assume that is Provoke All? At least that is her skill as it is called on Switch) but I still haven't figured it out how not to be attacked once. Does it involve Aelfric's Blessing by any chance? I still do not understand hiw this skill works effectively as of yet. I know its effect, which is to act once again at the end of the turn, but do you have to task that manually after finishing a turn with a character? Care to give an explanation about Aelfric's Blessing and how to beat this encounter without receiving any damage? Many thanks for your guide! It has been very useful!
@Chewythebigblackdog7 ай бұрын
@@nicolasflamelflamel If you're using the version that finishes off h'aanit and therion with veteran soldiers, is your party order the same as mine? Aelfric's blessing turn order is dependent on party order and is entirely consistent (goes bottom to top). For this strategy to work, hikari MUST be the top slot and castti MUST be the second slot from the top. Whimsical leaf moves each character's next action to the front of the turn, so with this party order, using whimsical leaf during the aelfric's blessing round will move castti, throne, and partitio ahead of all the enemies (since hikari's next action is still on the current turn, he isn't moved and can thus act last on the following turn). From your explanation, I don't think it's patience that's the culprit. If you haven't played the first Octopath Traveler, patience was a support skill that gave a chance to act again after every turn (think aelfric's blessing but it only occurs sometimes). They actually gave this ability to h'aanit in this fight (though the odds may be nerfed from the 25% that it was in octopath traveler 1). If patience procs, h'aanit (and ONLY h'aanit) will act during the aelfric's round as well, and goes BEFORE your party. There's no text to indicate that it went off. The original strategy gives her 2 opportunities to do this, but the veterans strat only gives her 1 opportunity (and hikari's at full HP during it, so she can't use it to kill him), since she's broken when it could go off on turn 2. If this still isn't what's happening, would it be possible to use the switch's record feature and send me a clip? Maybe it is a version difference thing. If not, watch the video linked in the pinned comment that contains the patience-proof strat and note down everything that happens in that video that doesn't happen for you.

@Chewythebigblackdog7 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean here. When is he not going first when he should be? Hikari should be going last basically all the time with how this strategy is set up, and there's zero turn order RNG involved. Just do the actions on the corresponding turns, regardless of which order the characters actually act in.
@Allexiuspdg7 ай бұрын
@@Chewythebigblackdog Turn 1 (A Step Ahead): Hikari: 1 BP Hienka (for majestic this needs to target Alfyn, for masterly the target doesn't matter) Hikari will never be first in the rotation. Cassti for some reason will start the fight.
@Chewythebigblackdog7 ай бұрын
@@Allexiuspdg Him being listed first doesn't actually matter, it's just done for organization's sake. As long as you do the actions on the appropriate turns it will always win, regardless of the turn order you get. (note that for the masterly travelers you need to use the variation detailed later in the comment to guarantee the win). In the video hikari never goes first and the strategy works anyways. The only point of the specific party order used in the video is for the bonus rounds (from aelfric's blessing); it has no effect on the order of "normal" turns. For the bonus round, party members lower in the order will act first (so in this case hikari will act last and castti will act second to last, both of which are pivotal to the strategy working).

Limb from Limb is a single target attack, so I would have needed to set up sealticge to use it. @Chewythebigblackdog7 ай бұрын
For these fights I used level 80 characters (as it says in the description), though only hikari's level really mattered here (and this strategy is still 100% doable at lower level). Just like galdera, there isn't an (in-game) recommended level for it, so it's a bit subjective. Personally, I consider level 80 to be the highest level to (reasonably) grind to, so that's what I use for my endgame strategy showcase videos (and also what I plan to use for taking down these bosses). Someone on reddit did all 4 fights at around level 65. Equipment, support skills, and especially strategy matter a lot more than levels do in this game. Nuts also provide more significant stat bumps than levels do, though both are less than equipment.

Regarding battle-tested weapon farming, I'd say get a second copy of the blade if you want (maybe get a third but using 3 physical attackers is a bit rare), but don't bother with anything else. If on PC, you can use mods to guarantee battle-tested weapon drops (hence why I have 6 lol).
