Octopath Traveler - Alfyn the Dancer has two major selling points: blistering speed and the ability to fully restore the entire HP/BP/SP! With the concoct skill, it's easy to rapidly restore resources to maintain your party's edge against the opponent.

At 9:10, you could use concot with a soothing dust and a curious bloom. It actually cleanse all debuff on team (just like rehabilitate but in aoe, and some minor healing aswell)

Wow that set up is amazing! I honestly never figured out how the concoct stuff works, but WOW that's amazing! Also oof at at 8:28 trying to poison an enemy that can't be poisoned... "loved" those bosses -_-

Dancer is definitely one of his best secondary jobs. But personally, I like Warrior better on Alfyn. Not only does it give him more bulk from the secondary class alone. But he also gains access to Swords and Spears. Not to mention the Thousand Sears skill to help with breaking enemies on top of Concoct and Tomahawk Axe (doubles your normal attacks). That way his only focus is breaking enemies and using Concoct religiously.

bluelink142 I like what you think but for me it was thief or hunter. Thief because I made him an evasion tank, so when he was hit he could tank hits (because of extra hp) and he could dodge attacks, it also increased speed so that made him better. Hunter because leghold trap is how I beat the final boss, srs that’s how. But warrior and dancer I can see be useful too.

Yeah, Alfyn is a bit of a tricky character to use, but highly rewarding to those who can make full use of concoct; like you said, there are so many good character builds, Alfyn can fall under the radar, but he’s by no means bad.

I have a question, I made Cyrus a Cleric. It's not his permanent secondary class for me and I'm mainly just doing it to get the overheal ability but my qustion is is that a good idea or no?

I haven't used him at all yet... I use Cyrus, Ophelia, Tressa and Olberic. I'm bad about finding a party and staying with it. I think my primrose is still level 10...

Team OCTO has 2 dmg dealing characters, Olberic the Warmaster and Cyrus the Apothecary, who also sometimes provides Dohter’s Charity for Tressa the Runelord or Ophilia the Starseer, depending on the situation. Team PATH has only Therion the Sorcerer to deal massive dmg while H’aanit the Cleric, Primrose the Merchant and Alfyn the Scholar provide buffs and debuffs. If all 3 devine skills(Cleric, Scholar & Sorcerer) are activated, plus Peacock Strut & enemy’s Elm.Def down (from Alfyn’s concoction or Maruf’s Full Enfeeblement), Therion with Elm.Atk 990+, equipped with Harald’s Sword & Heathcote’s Dagger, BP Eater/Elemental Aid/Augmented Elements/Surpassing Power can deal up to 490k+ dmg with Ignis Ardere on the broken Eyeball, ending the battle in 1 round.

I think I’m good sticking with Team OCTO fighting Galdera and Team PATH fighting the eyeball. So Alfyn will have the secondary job as a scholar, providing Alephan’s Enlightenment for Therion the Sorcerer.

i have a party set up of hannit as a warrior tressa /scholar therion/cleric and ophilia/dancer (hannit is my protagonist) im looking for a party set up of those four (or cyrus) everyone else is underleved and i cant fight bosses for runelord etc what should my party be more like any pointers would be appreciated

The whole party needs "Saving Grace" to be equipped for that method to work, Not sure if it's 100% worth it.

Alfyn is honestly the only one of the male characters that i can stand as a dancer. Olberic is just.. no, Cyrus is even worse because he's canonnically shite at dancing, and with Therion I honestly think that he'd rather die than wear a dancer outfit.

No. V and V only heals to 100%, it won't keep topping up the overheal

The memorial axe has a 150 speed even more than the viper dagger. You get it after completing the Zeph and Mercedes quest 2. Hasty helm has highest speed from the hats 78. Elemental light armor has the highest armor speed 72. You can get two sprightly necklaces for 80 speed each.

Alfyn works better as a Thief. He gains the speed needed, can donate sp to mages, steal it back, and after you're done abusing the purifying seed and pomegranate essence he can use thiefs divine for insane damage

Never found a npc who is really useful, and the only beast that is really useful is chuby cait... but fuck it, i don't want to farm those things. Dreadwolf is a decent summon... but come on, H'aanit doesnt need a summon that deal dammage, specially if you play her as warmaster.

That is extremely dumb to not be using Alfyn much. You should be using him THE MOST due to Concoct!
