Party Setup - i.imgur.com/q9...
Party Levels - 54, 57, 57, 60, 62, 64, 66, 71
Party 1: (Optimised for Elem Atk)
Alfyn Scholar - Concoct BP/HP/Delay Turn/etc., then basic attack.
Tressa Runelord - Give Light Rune to party, then basic attack.
Ophilia Hunter - Summon NPC (Eliza), then basic attack. (Leghold if needed)
H'aanit Sorceror - Elem Break, Creature "Devourer of Dreams", then basic attack.
This party maximises damage via Runes. The passive skills include Surpassing Power, Elemental Aid, Augmented Elements and Second Serving. Use H'aanit's Creature "Devourer of Dreams" that can be captured from Everhold Tunnels dungeon, which will kill all Souls in one hit at max BP.
Party 2: (1 HP Fortitude Olberic Warmaster)
Cyrus Merchant - Donate BP to Olberic
Therion Cleric - Armor Corrosive on Enemy. Revive Olberic if needed.
Primrose Starseer - Divination on Olberic for guaranteed Crits.
Olberic Warmaster - Winnehild's Battle Cry
This party is basically to set up Olberic so he can unleash Warmaster's divine skill with a Fortitude build. This is also the recommended party to get through the 8 bosses before the final boss, which should all be doable in one or two turns at max.

Thanks for this! Very helpful and efficient. I was able to kill Galdera following this method. Thank you for saving me the time of having to go through all 8 bosses over and over again.

I know this is very late, but did you use the exact same equipment? I’m preparing for the fight myself but don’t want to grind to get some of the equipment.

@@KPlay-oh3fd I would say most of the equipment is recommended, not required. Make sure Ophilia has the same axe as the video, as it's essential to breaking the boss quickly.

If i have nuts, who should i give them to? And Do i really need all those battle tested shields and mental belts to beat galdera? The farming is too much time consumption

No. Half my party had mediocre gear. The important part was the skills and pairing the underleveled/undergeared characters with characters who could keep them alive. In the second phase, I equipped everyone except my Warmaster with Saving Grace, Patience, Encore and Hang Tough. I had Tressa set up as a Runelord. Alfyn was a Hunter (although that didn't matter - I never used anything outside of his Apothacary toolkit). Ophilia was a Dancer, and I used her to bring the Luckless Sellsword (for Full Enfeeblement) into the fight. On Olberic, my Warmaster - I put Saving Grace on him over Fortitude. With Ophilia, I started the battle by overhealing. Built BP. Had Alfyn use Dohter's Charity + Revitalizing Jams. I used Tressa's infamous Transfer Rune + Sidestep combo. Once I was on pretty solid footing, I used the Dancer's divine skill and had Ophilia put Reflective Veil on everyone. Skills and spells matter far more than gear - I would just make sure to deck out your main damage dealers and healers with the best you've got. Primrose was my Cleric in the first phase, and her Elemental Defense was less than half of Ophilia's and her Elemental Attack was significantly lower as well. But she was able to do what I needed in the first phase; she could not keep up during the second whereas Ophilia could. I could only deck one of them out and had put more levels and JP into Ophilia, so I figured she was the better choice for phase 2.

Lux arguably is faster. 60k+ per hit times 6 hits per turn. You already have the correct party setup for it too. Just need Adamantite Hat/Shield and double Elemental Augmenters on Tressa. BP Eater, Elemental Aid, Surpassing Power, Elemental Advantage?, Peacock Strut, Elemental Break, Alephan, Aelfric.

In Wave 2, how did everyone but Olberic start wtih 2 BP pts? This is Octopath Traveler 1, right?

she had 2 bp and it gives 2 per bp u use. so 6. He probably equiped the ability on her that gives buffs 1 turn longer

I can't get this strat to work to save my life. Phase one is no problem, but phase 2 is impossible. I take on too much damage and die within a few turns, it seems like there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. EDIT: It took a few tries but eventually I got it to work.

OMG! What kind of gear are they equipped with? I'm confused on how so many characters are hitting for damage so far over 9,999.
@diekritischestimme
@diekritischestimme Жыл бұрын
It's mostly the equipped support skills and how they are combined with each other. Annoying that you have to teach "surpassing power" so that they can make more damage than 9,999, I hate this. Why would they limit the attack calculations anyway at this number? I beat the first form with a "regular" party setup, without all these "combinations of powers", because I don't see the fun in following the same recipe all the time: boost up a certain skill, in order to boost up another skill, then equip every character with a power which "naturally" is only for the warrior in your party, then making no regular damage just to have the runelord perk (light damage) applied to all characters. It's kind of broke, if you ask me.

I liked this game up to this point, but giving no f***ing safe points once entering the gates of hell? This is so utterly stupid. I beat the first form without any problems with my favourite teammates and sure, the 4 other characters I did not train much and they died in one round. If I had known I need to play with two different teams I'd prepare differently of course, but since this never happened before in the whole game, how can anybody expect it? And yeah, you need a thief in your party in order to get the rare items from boss fights and the locked treasure chests and I always had to drag him around for this purpose and if I had to replace him by someone else, because the storyline was forcing me to exchange him, I had to go back to each area to collect the locked treasure. The other four party members were NEVER available when you needed them, just for their special talents, it is not even clear that they have come with the other four team members into these gates of hell, since they hang around the tavern all day, but now, great - I honestly won't waste another 20-30 hours boosting up the four characters I didn't like much, just because I have to use them in one final boss fight. Damn, they screwed the game. Up to finishing all the 8 main quests I wasn't even sure there is anything left to do in this world, since there were only hints of this at the end of most stories, but then it took me like 2 hours just to find the quest giving somewhere in an area which I rarely visit (no spoilers) in order to get to this place. This would have been an easy fix: Let people have something like a powerful trader inside the gates of hell, for instance a ghost trader (in each story beginning dungeon there was this trader standing around before the boss fight, kind of weird - they could have sticked with this logic to the end), add some high level monsters to the gates of hell and let you safe the game on one of these "change party signs", like on any other regular safepoint, so that at least I can level my characters until I am strong enough, like it is in 90% of the other games out there, for instance the Golden Sun series (part 1 & 2 for Gameboy are amazing) , which had a far better story, better dungeon design etc. btw. And you never had to exchange characters in your party just to access the special abilities of party members. I understand, fighting with 8 people in one party would be too much, but having the other 4 characters AROUND would make life so much easier. Oh and of course I did not look up any guides for this game so far, I solved all side quests without the Internet, but honestly, now I start watching this video, because I don't want to waste 20-30 hours on leveling up the weaker characters in my party, just to find out that the boss fight has other weird conditions. And for information: 4 party members are around level 80 and the other four are between 38 and 45, because I had a good strategy with the first party and had no need to worse it by including for instance the female hunter character, which is horrible to play in my opinion. PS: I am talking about the first game - how on earth can they make the bossfight look so similiar.....

PS: Why on earth do we see all 8 characters standing next to each other at 5:15, but cannot go on with the party of our choice? I think they screwed up the game at the very end. Also I don't remember that the game was explaining to me how to use the items for poisons/healing of the apothecary, so I almost never used this skill.

Ok, third comment, after watching this video to the end. I don't like the game design - you exactly KNEW that you could get away with each party character at 1 hp at the end, because you knew how much HP the boss had and that two rounds of Winnehild's Battle Cry would suffice to kill the boss. When you play this boss for the first time, without looking up anything on the Internet, you don't even know the monster's attack pattern. How can they design the game in a way that it is impossible to kill the boss without looking up anything or losing several times? Also some important information of this fight is not explained and there are just these quick messages on the screen like "you have to kill the summon souls to lift the curse" , if you are not a native English speaker you might need to have more time reading this. I think they made the game bad in many aspects, I mean if you compare this to Golden Sun 1 & 2 (gameboy series) - each dungeon was unique, had some riddles to solve, some logic to understand - each boss had a certain weakness, and you had to find out about it, but the game was forgiving enough to let you survive 2-3 rounds before being eliminated. You have no spell to heal all status problems (of all members), just one by one and not the whole party, same with items. I missed strategic spells for protection, which are lasting longer than 2-3 rounds, without boosting they are almost useless and all the amulets against certain type of elemental damage are utterly useless, since there is almost no boss fight where it makes sense to use them. I think they gave away a lot of potential - this game could have been so much better, if they had changed some of these details.
